This adorable little Frank mini brush is a hell of a great lather maker - it was sent to me as a gift by a friend of mine. The Ingram cream is from Egypt and it’s got the same nice minty/soapy scent as the discontinued UK version as well as the same great lather but it’s more mentholated. The Prep delivered beautifully on the postshave care, and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave gave me lots of additional menthol goodness as well as its lovely old school European scent that I love so much. Three passes got rid of my rough stubble and left me totally BBS!

The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #20 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Catcher Razor with a Henckels Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

It seemed like a while since I’d picked up some Russian steel and this one called out to me. Today’s choice was very satisfying in every way

Normally most Russian razors are very utilitarian in their design which makes this one stand out all the more. Even though it is branded, “Moscow,” my understanding is that the shipyard shown is actually in St. Petersburg. The seller’s offhand speculation was that there was a disgruntled shop foreman who wanted to pay homage to his hometown in support of their ongoing rivalry with Moscow

I see you are enjoying your Yaqi Tile razor, I got my replacement head so I call it V2 because they put out a much better QC machined head. I find mine mild and my testing on this razor head are indicating neutral blade exposure, but still enjoying the shave & end results regardless. Next week will do 2 shaves with it and the blades I will use are the Astra SP and the Kai SS extra wide blade for a little more blade feel. I bought the cavern lake brush also(still in the mail) and it sure looks good in your photo. Thanks for sharing.

 

Sunday Schick shave, Jan 16th, 2022

Razor: Schick injector i2 with hydro magic, Mfg-1954-57, excellent tame mid range, the razor is mostly a carefree shave and a joy to use, light & nimble and easy to clean with the brilliant Hydro magic feature with just a breath blow or 2 to force water out before storing for next use.
Blade: Personna SS PTFE injector(2) excellent blade, very sharp, great longevity & smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap: Razorock Don Marco, nice citrus scent for warm southern thought with excellent lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi 22mm Cola synthetic, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, good scrub + excellent precision painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: Razorock Blue barber AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion + scentless.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 blemish weeper= excellent shave with my Schick i2 injector + a Personna injector coated blade.

Looks intimidating, but it's actually quite a mild shaver.
Viking Revolution peppermint eucalyptus provided a great slick lather, with that cool memo feel I love.
