I was looking forward to this shave because it has been exactly one week since I did a straight shave. The C-Mon brush is one of my top favorites because it feels nice on my skin and whips up a nice lather. After I finish my Arko soap shave commitment, I am going to use this soap as well as Proraso for all my upcoming shaves until they are exhausted. They are at the very bottom of their tubs and I just want to use them up.

Did a 2 pass shave and it was smooth and comfortable. Did get a weep on my mouth corner, but it closed on its own. Finished with the alum, witch hazel and that wonderful juice, respectively. Have a great day!

good morning gents.fine shave with the new sc/platinum combo .mwf lather was excellent,though the puck was a bit dry from lack of use.the omega boar took no prisoners though,it will load any soap .
here the new sc sits in it's restored old type case by @jimjo1031 ,with a new era nickel blade bank i had kicking around.another custom razor set i will keep together.have a great saturday everyone..

It’s really nice to be posting again. This morning was the first straight razor shave since early February for this old geezer! SWMBO and the medical body mechanics were again quite opposed to any open edge mug shaving on my part. I put the “Traveling Wilbury’s” song, ‘Handle With Care’ and picked up one of my my favorite straight razors, this lovely. Bartmann, and had at it. It really is like riding a bike. Two and a half passes left me wonderfully smooth.

One of the benefits of another enforced health vacation, was the opportunity to add to my safety razor collection and knowledge. According to Waite’s Compendium, the later 1950’s Durham Enders Speed Shavers had their start in the 1932 Enders Speed Razor. Initial manufacturing took place in St. Louis, MO under the auspices of the Simmons Hardware Co. Manufacturing later shifted to Mystic, CT in the 1940’s following acquisition of the brand by the Durham Duplex Co.

While the Speed Razor and Speed Shavers are handsomely constructed safety razors, they required a proprietary blade which left many of them on the shelf as display queens until an enterprising soul discovered that the current Schick B-20 Injector blade fit perfectly unlike any other injectors. With the edge removed from an original proprietary blade, they were shaveable again. Since that time an adapter fitting the Schick B-20 was developed. In any case they are remarkable shaving tools!

This morning’s dome shave went swimmingly. My preference in safety razors are SE’s, and this remarkable design delivers an incredibly close shave, one every bit as good as my modern Supply and beloved E Type Schick injectors. The adapter features two neodymium magnets which hold the Schick B-20 blade quite securely. Over the course of my enforced health vacation, I’ve been shaving with all 5 of my Enders safety razors and have found them great for both mug and noggin shaves. Two ATG dome passes left yours truly velveteen smooth from neck to noggin.

BLADE: Schick B-20 (Dome)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: MrEE LE #007 Knurled Aluminum Handle Hybrid Knot
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a splash of Canoe Original EdT.

This morning's shave SHOULD have been better. What do I mean. Well, let's find out. Good loading work with the Jayaruh(#59). Fresh, clean nice job at the cheeks&sideburns. Ditto both ends of Porcupine Alley. We move on down to Cactus Nation. While I was pleased with the left side-North to South-I missed areas alongside Ingrown Swamp-not JUST IS. I should get the WHOLE of Cactus and will focus on that tomorrow. No doubt the Nivea bodywash and Stoylin soap led to the cleanliness. 2 passes. Zero Cuts, Knicks, and Polka-dots. It was just the misses at Cactus that forced me to lower the grade to Most Excellent. This was a shave where technique certainly trumped tools. Looks like I'll have to order another Sandpiper A.S. soon.

It's not very aggressive, so just about any blade will do probably. I like Treet black beauties too, very smooth blades. If you enjoy them, maybe you would enjoy Treet Falcons. Unlike the black beauties, Falcons are coated carbon steel. I might buy a 200-pack of them some day, if the rest of the tuck is as good as the first blade.

Thank you Daniel. I'm generally pleased;

I do 3-pass shaves. With the grain, sideways to the grain, and against the grain. The corners of my mouth are so hard to go against the grain. I just let the razor rest on my face and do short strokes. I don't always leave weepers here but, it is the most difficult part of my face to shave against the grain. No problem with any other spot. I don't normally get any burn on my neck unless I select a bad razor/blade combo and have to do more than just a couple strokes to get as close as I want. This is why I like the Feather blades. Nice and clean in 3 passes with minimal cleanup.
