Thanks Daniel. I believe that the choice of shaving gear is a personal decision. I don't go out of my way to say my way is the right way. If someone sees me shaving and is inquisitive, then I just explain why I shave this way. It is not every day that guys see someone shave their head with ease, especially with a traditional safety razor so I see it as an opportunity to share the benefits of traditional wetshaving.
It certainly is, but it's still a good thing to let people know that carts, disposables and electrics are not the only options! My dad shaves with a Mach 3, but bought a brush to use with his goo, so I gifted him a tube of Proraso and he liked it. Better slickness than goo, so an easy way to improve shaves!
That is great. I consider him a wetshaver because he uses a brush to lather his face. It is a great start for someone to ease into it.
I might have to buy him a better brush at some point, and maybe a shaving soap to try as well. I'm not sure if he would be interested in a DE, but he knows I use one, and he knows that the blades are cheap. Over here many places sell 10-packs of Bic blades for 3€, not as cheap as buying online, but compared to carts even that is ridiculously affordable.
I won't even attempt a whole year, because I know I would fail. I'll get some tax returns later this year and I can't stop looking at new razors and such.. Maybe I will end up purchasing an adjustable razor or something. Or I'll end up spending money on new cookware.. Or both.
Hey @Trigger, I got the Rocky Mtn. soap off the tub perimeter but flattening it out could be tricky. Maybe I'll just attack as is. It appears to be "cool" enough to try in the summer, with any "cool" aftershave.
I just saw this on sale for 28€. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RESIST STUFF LIKE THIS?! Someone please tell me to not buy it, I already have a Tech exactly like the ones in the picture
Fleamall finds from yesterday. 1959 Fatboy Star single edge - 1912 Microtouch One razor set. Colgate soap. Ebay find from yesterday..on the way in. Gillette Contract Tech. I have been wanting a black Tech handle. I could not resist this one.....on the way in as well but not from Ebay. Yummy!
