I would say this Sunday would be perfect for me. I will do only one shave with it this month.. Tomorrow, I will do my Henckels Friodur straight shave so that I wouldn't need a super efficient shave the next day in preparing for church service Sunday evening.

Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Chantry Lavender Goat's Milk Bar Soap.
Brush: APShave Co 24mm Cashmere Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl : Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: Cella Bio Organic Aloe Vera Shaving Cream.

Face & Head Shave.

Greetings,

A new shave set up to start the weekend.

After the comfortable shaves i had in my previous week's with the reacquaintance of the Feather Hi Stainless i intend to carry on for another week paring it up with my German made DE razors to get more acquainted and a true focus on them after my long hiatus of not using them.

Starting with a maiden face & head shave using the very assertive semi-open comb Muhle R41 which is the most assertive razor & blade duo I've used to date ..The verdict? Very smooth & efficient!.. Using the lightest of touch both the razor & blade was a smooth duo slicing through my face & head stubble effortlessly.

An enjoyable close comfortable face & head shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small near last squirts of the now sadly discontinued Avon Wilderness EdT to the chest & pulse points...This is/was my all time favourite men's EdT fragrance from Avon...Wonderful stuff.

My face & precious swede are feeling silky smooth & smelling divine.

SOTD SATURDAY MORNING, APRIL 23, 2022

Given that two of my respected shave brothers on the TSD ‘Shave School’ thread, where we’ve all been mentors to newer wet shavers for the last several years, have recently been using DE shavettes, I decided to pull out one of my two favorite barbar’s razors for this morning’s shave, my Feather DX. Both this barber’s razor and my other, the Tedalus Essence, can accommodate split DE, Schick Proline B-20 and other injectors, or my preferred Feather AC blades. I refuse to shave with split DE blades, and really only use Feather Super AC blades in both razors as I did this morning. In fact, the Feather Super is the sharpness benchmark I strive for when honing my traditional straights. My metric is the SPT (Styrofoam Peanut Test).

I hope I’m not seen as a heretic for saying this, but the HHT (Hanging Hair Test) doesn’t work for me. The SPT does, but, of course, everyone needs to use what works for them. Many well respected honemeisters use the HHT, the resting thumb test, and the tomato slicing test. It was pointed out to me by a good friend that a fresh Feather Super pops through the surface of a styrofoam peanut with just the weight of the blade. Both my barber’s razors when loaded with Feather Super AC blades deliver magnificently buttery smooth shaves. So whether building a fresh bevel or just touching up an edge on one of my traditional straights, I know I’ve reached blade Satori when the blade pops styrofoam along the full length of the edge. My two and a half pass DX mug shave this morning was copacetically smooth.

I own a number of adjustable razors, but my hands down favorite is my 2018 Rex Ambassador. When wide open it delivers an extremely close noggin shave, although I would caution newer owners of this razor to slowly work their way up. Matt Pisarcik of Razor Emporium and Rex Supply announced this amazing safety razor back in 2017 at the ‘Big Shave Southwest’. After meeting Matt and his lovely wife at a Midwest Shave Collectibles meeting and discussing his new endeavor, I ordered the razor. Despite an initial hiccup, which Matt immediately remedied, the razor delivers almost a straight razor’s blade feel when wide open. He has since delivered a milder adjustable model for those who found the last two settings on the original model a bit much. Good technique is what sees me through each shave with this terrific shaver as it did this morning. Two ATG noggin passes and I was velveteen smooth from noggin to neck.

POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Nancy Boy Signature Scent AS Gel

Proraso shave! Well, the cream part at least. I like this cream more and more every time I use it.
The blade is still going strong, this was it's fifth use.
