  1. Thanks Jeff. It's a great shaver and I should use it more often.
  2. thank you Joe.my don marco and alchemy soaps are the new "super formula".will use the don marco next shave for comparison.:):eatdrink047:
  3. Very happy with this morning's shave-same as yesterday but I had a Stoylin brush. I did a nice job getting the Oro Valley(also Stoylin)onto the brush. Oro and Sandpiper are almost tied for my favorite Stoylin soaps. Oro keeps creeping up to near the top. Solid paint job all around. 2 passes(although I liked the first pass so much, I asked muhself, Do I REALLY need the second. Decided to do it. I suppose that's what you think about when using a Stoylin brush to set up for a Stoylin shave. I do admit to using a little too much of the Puros A.S. (just like yesterday). I need to remind muhself that a little bit goes a long way with Puros. The final touch was Mutamayez cologne(from Swiss Arabian). Interesting scent, I'll say that. I like it very much, though. Outta This World Excellent.

  10. Thank You, Daniel. I am learning and having fun too! I am glad I found this forum. I would have never considered shaving with an open blade before.
Much good info to be gleaned here! :)

  12. Super shave, Paul!
  13. Thanks, Daniel!
  14. Congrats, Daniel! Is that an R41? Can’t tell from the angle. Looks like a Muhle handle.

So, my first try with the R41. I like it, but it is not nearly as aggressive as my Game Changer .84 JAWS. It was very easy to use for me, but I did get one weeper though, just under my lower lip. My fault, but no big deal. It was easy to shave over a mole without any issues however.

Overall I would say that it's a good razor on the more aggressive side, but not overly so. Maybe the previous (2011?) version was worthy of being called the beast, but this isn't. Just my opinion. That does not mean that it is not an excellent shaver. Because it is.

    Have a great day, gentlemen!

  16. Thanks, Jeff! It is.
  17. I really like my R41. I use Feather blades in mine. I have it shelved for now while I try out other combinations. I am still waiting for the Flatboy to arrive....it got to Syracus yesterday and dropped off the map. I had one shipment from Shave Nation that made it to Syracus and then started back tracking and got to Detroit before it turned around and came back to Syracus again. Maybe they hired somebody who mixes up the return and sender's address? I have 3 more soaps in that order as well! I am about to start using UPS instead of USPS. If I return an item, it gets there in 2 days! But, coming to me takes a week. (it has to sneak thru Syracus safely....)

  18. I have never tried the Bic DE blades. I still have bad memories of using their disposables and hacking my face up! Many years ago before I had technique down but, they made a bad impression. I never used disposable razors again! That was when I started using the twin blade carts. Back in the 70's. I now wish I had stuck with the DE razor. I think I had a flaretip. I do not know what ever happened to that razor...
