    Greetings,

    Early Morning Shave,

A wonderful shave to finish my shaving week off in style.

The Perma-sharp has been the star performer of all my shaves this week. On it's 4th use and final outing it paired up with the Merkur 34c wonderfully....However, the Perma-Sharp felt noticeable more aggressive than with the but with the same level of smoothness this could be due to the Merkur 34c having a slightly heavier handle than the Muhle R89 wonderfully.

My reacquaintance with the perma-sharp has been wonderful.

I personally find the second shave with the perma-sharp always feels much smoother. However, this could be down to me familiarising myself with the blade again after a long hiatus of not using them it takes a few shaves for me to get use to them again.

In my future shaves i intend to reacquaint myself with the Bolzano Superinox Inossidable which has been a past favourite that i have infrequently added to my DE blade rotation due to reaching for my usual suspects.

A comfortable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report...Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling smooth cool, & smelling divine.;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

SOTD THURSDAY MORNING, May 5, 2022

The mug shave this morning featured my Tanifuji Airi 11/16, my first Japanese straight razor purchase. The Sandvik silver steel in this blade holds a fabulous edge, and was honed upon arrival by my son on his jnat progression. I’ve been maintaining that particular edge on my Swaty Barber’s hone and Constroption for at least the past two years, and have no complaints about the edge. It has remained sharp and buttery smooth, as it did this morning through all three passes.

The in-brand frankenrazor used for this morning’s noggin shave had my Colonial Silversmith DE handle mounted to my Colonial General V2 AC head. Many point to the Blackland Vector as the best of the AC safety razors, but my Colonial General easily holds it own, and delivered a lovely two pass ATG dome shave leaving me velveteen smooth from neck to noggin.

The TR6 repair slogs on! When I opened the Moss Motors clutch kit yesterday, it, of course, didn’t include the the hydraulic master and slave cylinders, pushrod or hose!! That, for whatever reason, (read bottom line) no longer includes the latter hydraulic parts, like it used to 25 yrs ago when I installed the last clutch. It’s now called the “Hydraulic Kit” and is a separate and not inexpensive purchase! Whatever, it’s arriving today! If I’m lucky, I may be able toe drive my car by the end of the summer.

RAZOR: Tanifuji Airi 11/16, Colonial General V2 AC Head mounted on Colonial Silversmith DE Handle
    BLADE: Feather Super AC
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a heavy scrub with Argan Oil
BRUSH: Rearden Razor 316L SS Synth
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by a rinse with Humphreys WH. Finished with Krampert’s Frostbite AS Splash.
  14. Thank you!

  17. You have leaves on your trees! Everything is bare here! I woke to 42 degrees. Heat will arrive mid-next week. We bypass Spring here and jump right from winter into summer! I had 16 inches of snow on ground just 2 weeks ago!
