I had a hot second date with the R41.

I decided to shave in the hot sauna. When I started the temp was something like 80°C/176°F, but it raised to 90°C/196°F, because the temp sails a bit, the thermostat isnt the best on the kiuas (that's what we call the sauna stove).
I had a mirror which isn't really meant to be handheld, it's more like a make-up mirror with the stand is made out of thick metal wire, and that got hot while I shaved. So I decided to dunk the mirror into the water a few times during the shave. Not that the visibility was great anyways, the sauna is quite dim. Because of that, I throwed some water on the kiuas a few times (löyly is the word for that).
I used the water in that yellow plastic basin, where I soaked the saunavihta (the birch branch thing, you use it to pretty much whip yourself), to shave with. So my lather had some birch scent to it too.
The shave itself went surprisingly well. There was not any blood, and while I was careful, I did not shave any slower than usually. I did just one pass. After that, I hopped out of the sauna, and lathered my face again in front of the sink, with proper lighting, and did a little bit of touch-ups on my jawline and on the corners of my mouth. Overall, I would call it a CCS+.
Cold shower was my cold water rinse, but I got back to the sauna for a bit to relax, and after that washed myself properly. AS and moisturizer after all that.
I guess it's not exactly unheard of to shave in a sauna, but most gents who do that, are probably not using a DE of any kind.
Maybe this could double as my MAYhem shave. I'm not sure. But anyhow, I had an unusual shave to which I included something about my culture.
Have a great day, gentlemen!
