  1. Thanks for the offer! I will pass for now. I am still working with the Feather DX. I actually do pretty well. I have gotten pretty good at with the grain and against the grain on my cheeks and neck. Lip & chin is where I need work. I have some ProGuard blades arriving today. I may try it out tomorrow with one. I also have 2 razors I won on ebay for practice sharpening/stropping. Both got for less than $10. One is a cheep "Gold Dollar" got for 5 bucks

  2. When I started straight shaving, BBS was my goal and usually got it without fanfare. Now, my shaves are predominately near BBS. I am fine with my shaves that look BBS.

    Ikon B1 OSS head.
Signature Shaving SSC59 stainless steel handle.
    Bic Chrome Platinum blade (fresh).
    Razorock 400 Plissoft synthetic brush.
    Fine Accoutrements Snake Bite soap.
    Royal Copenhagen cologne.

Great Monday shave to take down two days of growth. First run with the Bic blade....not a bad blade.

    Happy Monday everyone!
  7. Very nice Danny. New razor?

  9. Stuff came today! I have them set up for tomorrow. I melted the Bay Rum into my new wood bowl (filled to the brim!) so I will try that out tomorrow. I got the ProGuard blades so, I loaded up the DX. I will do cleanup with the Fatip with a new Bic blade. Classic Shaving synthetic brush will whip soap into my bowl. The constant this month is the Proraso Blue Pre-shave cream. Pinaud AS finishes up. So, much new stuff to try tomorrow!

The ProGuard blades look like they will work really well. These don't feel like a steak knife on my face!

  10. sounds like you wouldn’t care for southeastern PA. Up into the humid 90’s in late Spring usually, summer and sometimes into the early Fall. Much cooler this year!
  11. Can’t beat an MMOC shave! Awesome menthol kit!

  14. Sounds good, Gary! I look forward to your commentary! As I said before, a former TSD member, Bill Morgan, swore by Proguard blades with his DX! Enjoy your shave!

  15. Those temps certainly do sound hot for me, but I probably could deal with it.

However I'm sure that there would be a lot of interesting things to see, and that I would enjoy.
