  1. Very nice shave Jeff. Andrey makes a wonderful razor. I have enjoyed my shaves with the “Hanabira” Kamosori that he made for me I. February. I hope his family is safe.
  2. Much better Paul.

  11. Dang! Gas was $4.59 when I went out this morning. I went back out for a ride and now gas is $4.69! It will be over $5 by summer. Heating fuels will be out of reach this coming winter....back to wood stove heat! Glad I own 20 acres of trees!

  13. Thanks, Ralph! :p I’ve enjoyed this razor, although I prefer the original Saito to which it is an homage!

  14. Setup for tomorrow. I am going to keep doing complete shaves with the Feather DX to figure out how I want to handle the razor. Switch hands? Do both sides with my right (I'm right-handed)? Looking for the most efficient way to do it. Some say to switch hands because it is easier to see what you are doing (important when you have a straight razor in your hand). I am impressed with how smooth it got my upper lip and chin without nicks or weepers. I do like a challenge!

Going with the Mitchell's WF because it's really slick and I love the smell! The constant remains the Proraso Blue pre-shave. Feather "Artist Club" DX with a ProGuard blade shave #2. I like to "bloom" the soap with hot water on top for a couple minutes. Pour off the water for face wash after the shave into my mug. I like to hold the MWF over my lather bowl (warmed) and swirl with my brush. Letting the suds fall into my lather bowl (love this part). Then I grab the bowl and start swirling the brush to fill it to the top with rich lather. Meditative & relaxing.

Today I did only a 2-pass shave. I figured I best stop while I had not cut myself yet and not push it! LOL:happy097:
I will try for a 3-pass tomorrow. See if I can get my neck as close as my upper lip & chin! Cheeks were not bad at all either. Maybe a 3rd pass is all I need!

  19. Had a brain fart, correction made Norton!
  20. Thanks, Joe! I do seem to be getting the hang of it. So many things to think about while holding the DX in my hand poised to mow the field...angle, no pressure, no sideways movement, angle, angle & of course, angle!:D
