  1. True, I just personally hate using polishers on my razors.

  2. So I found a glass hot sauce bottle I used to decant my clubman into, I’m gonna let this sit in my closet for about a week and see what changes happened in the scent profile now that it is no longer in plastic. After all they say soda taste better in glass then plastic bottles, let’s see how this affects fragrances.

    SRS # 690 - Lakewood Soap Week

    Rating: 5 / 5

Razor: Wade & Butcher 5/8 French Point
Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket 26 mm
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Lard Lass - Two Weeks With Pay
Aftershave: Los Jabones de Joserra Gredos
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

Fabulously close shave this morning following the X3Bar workout and hot shower. A super close three pass shave shave with the W&B straight. The soap, with the Lard Lass base, is super slick and whips into a very nice lather.

Another beautiful day to be outside doing outside things. I hope you all have had a great day.

  5. Awesome shave Giuseppe!
  6. I did a NB for almost two years before I purchased a few soaps for the Southern den such as Arko. I can not control when my family decides to buy me a soap or tow as gifts.
That being said I have a total of 81 soaps in both dens combined. 21 are samples. So I have a good ten plus years in supply.

  15. Hello all.
I've had some fun with different razors in the last few weeks.
But back to my favorite razor and blade combination now.

A simple DE-Vette shave for this morning to get ready for work.

I have to report that the Razorock SS Hawk V3 open comb is high on my list now. Using it for almost a week has made me a believer, even though it's a heavy tool.

The DE-Vette with a new feather blade is still my favorite razor, Shown. I think if it was designed to hide the two ends of the blade, more people would like them.

If I had a SE-Vette that used a super feather pro blade, that would be something huh?

    All
    Enjoy

  16. Beautiful looking razor Gary.
  17. Paul, why are you experimenting? Focus on what has given you success to get those OTWE shaves. These shaves are in your repertoire and muscle memory. Just reach for it. I know you can.
  18. Very nice shave Terry.

  20. I think you’re really getting ahead of yourself here, Gary! If you insist on trying a traditional straight, I would not try honing it yourself! Send it off to a professional honemeister so you have a proper benchmark. Focus on the DX and developing good open edge shaving skills. I think you really need to dial it back a bit, both to husband your resources ($’s), and to make sure open edge shaving is for you! It’s not for everyone!
