  1. I hafta correct myself on something. I had said that the Fatip "Grande" was heavier than the Slant but, I picked up both and they the same! Just one has a twisted handle while the other is straight.
  2. A fine shave this morning! A fresh Feather blade in the Fatip "Grande". Very nice and smooth! I really like the Grande!

Started with face washing and hot washcloth applied to soften the beard. I bloomed the MWF while washing my face. I used the Proraso Blue again too!

The Simpson's Trafalgar T3 was a tight fit in the mug but, got me a bunch of lather to whip in my lather bowl. The T3 feels nice on my face so, I did a little face-lathering as well.

The Fatip "Grande" gave me another Grande shave with the Feather blade feeling so smooth! A fresh blade does that! I got super smooth with a 2-pass shave. The alum bar raised little feedback and makes face feel so smooth too! No cuts, nicks, or errors today!

Washed my face again with the last of the lather from the bowl and the brush squeezings. Very nice!

Finished off with a dab of balm and a splash of aftershave. Both from Proraso.

I hope all have a fine shave as well!

  7. I don't really have any problem razors now. I do like the mix-ups though. I have so many things to try in different combinations now. Blades, shave soaps & creams, razors ( I need to do a re-count again!)

I do tend to lean more towards the open comb razors. LOVE my vintage Gillettes!
  8. Them Muhle razors sure are nice, ain't they? I have the R89, R89 "Twist", and the R41 "Grande". All are good razors with a Feather blade! ;)
  9. RAS continues...

    GEM Featherweight
I have blades on the way too

SE Shave # 258 -DARKFALL & MICROMATIC MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
    Blade: GEM Stainless
    Brush: Epsilon Horse Hair
    Lather: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Osage Rub
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm
    Thayer’s Witch Hazel - Original

A wonderful start to a absolutely gorgeous day here on LI. Following the X3Bar Push workout and a hot shower, I had a wonderful three pass shave with the MMBT and the Daerkfall combination. I look forward to all my shaves, however, my Monday’s shaves are the perfect way to start my week for me.

The post shave had a silent alum report and the witch hazel, balm and juice have left my face feeling fabulous. I smell good on top of that as well.

I hope you all have a great day gentlemen.
  13. Not worth the price in my mind.
  14. good morning gents..lovely iced lemon shave today.
smooth 2 passer in the usual manner.
this set up will see lots of use in the hotter months..still as potent as when first purchased some 3-4 years ago.gotta love stirling.
    have a fine monday everyone.:eatdrink047:
  15. Only if you have terminal RAS! :p
  16. The Proraso Blue cools my face. I have no menthol soaps tho...
  17. I have 3 packs of blades for the Feather DX. I have the ProGuard and a pack of the Light blades. What other razor can use these injector blades? I know I have seen one before but cannot recall what razor it was.

  18. the 1930s gillette open combs keep me firmly planted in the brit gillette camp.i have moved along many gillettes lately but...the oc versions are the ticket.;):eatdrink047:
  19. I wouldn't spend that amount on a new safety razor, let alone a vintage one. However, my 2 custom straights were way over that amount. It really depends on many factors that determine the value and price of razors.
  20. fabulous start to the week gents..
