I agree. As we gain more experience with wetshaving while tweaking our technique, we get better shaves from a razor that we considered just alright. It's why the conventional wisdom says to put down a "troublesome" razor and come back to it some other time. I know that you know it, but it is worth repeating.
Based on my two experiences with Razorock soaps, I will definitely consider your recommendations. However, I am shy about trying tobacco scents that smell like cigars.
Happy Birthday Barry! You are still young! When you hit 60 next year, then you can join the old farts club! LOL!
absolutely..maybe a red tip mini focus .. tis why i mentioned the dead sea set also.nice ozone aqua scent..
Hi all! Sitting watching a movie I slowly loaded an injector with Schick B-20 blades. I loaded one into my Canadian pat. 1937 Eversharp Schick razor. I shave both head and face before work. It seemed to have more use, well then. The next day I used the same blade in the same razor. It was ok till the very end. I think I can get 2 work shaves with one B-20 blade. Ive always like this injector razor, it's one of the most efficient injectors I have. Think I'll try a 2 shave with this combo again. It seemed to pull and tug at the end of shave 2. I'll see how it goes. Enjoy tp
June 30/30 Razor: Edwin Jagger 3one6 Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia Blade: vintage Schick Super Stainless Steel Soap: Stirling Barbershop A/S: Pinaud Clubman A celebration shave. Celebrating what? Shaving in the gentlemanly way. And two days in a row with Stirling Barbershop, to further the monthly theme. I always feel so sophisticated using an Edwin Jagger; so English and proper. I therefore had to top things off with Pinaud Clubman. You know, because I look just like the gent on the label.
Excellent shave and setup Eric. I like the Pinaud Clubman Classic aftershave as well as Stirling Barbership shave soap. I was planning on pairing these 2 items later this month.
It's another fine shave today! I really like the Permasharp blades. Showered and used the "Dollar Shave Club" bar soap and the body wash. Those are the only things I get from them anymore. The body wash is nice! Hot washcloth to the face while I bloom the Sir Hare "Classic Barber". Applied Proraso White to the face. Poured off the water and started loading the brush to whip in my Shave Nation lather bowl. This bowl is nice size and has a bottom that is easy to hold onto. Plenty of room for the brush in this bowl. Whipped lather with the Perfecto brush that I saved. It is still shedding bristles so, it may not have much life left! Razor was the Redtip SS Flare again with a Permasharp blade 1st use. Very sharp blades. I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG and got a near BBS shave. Alum bar raised minimal feedback. Face always feels so nice after the alum bar. Used the last of the soap from the bowl and brush to wash face again. I let the lather sit on my face while I rinse the bowl and brush. Then I rinse it off, pat dry with towel and apply a dab of Proraso balm and a splash of Pinaud "Clubman"
I really like that Redtip too! I may pack my gentle SS Flares away. I have so many razors now, I am putting away razors that I won't use anymore. I keep the more aggressive ones out. I am running out of room! LOL
