  3. thank you Joe,:):eatdrink047:nice change of pace.i wouldn't use it for a work shave but it shows courage for those that did back in the day this was commonly used.nice shaver.it is a "ride the cap"sort of razor and the sides protrude a little,so one can feel the gears a little in some spots.a little annoying.;)gem razors woul;dn't have this issue being fully flat on top.

    Good afternoon.

    1955 Gillette Redtip
    7'o'clock Perma-Sharp DE Blade (3?)
    JR #386 Silvertip Badger Brush
Gentlemen's Nod Zaharoff's Signature Series SS and AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 30.5 hrs

    I shaved my dome earlier
with a different setup so that's why I did this shave. This soap is next to be Edmund Fitzgerald and I am glad because this was an example of a higher priced soap that was such a dud to me. Sometimes the hype doesn't coincide with one's expectations. The soap fragrance was very mild to my nose and I had to use plenty of water to get a low structure, slick lather. I had to use so much water that the soap seemed to dissolve that I am lucky to get 30 shaves from it. I had a similar situation with my first try with Cryogen, but I figured it out with my second puck. However, that technique wouldn't work with this soap. I will never buy Gentlemen's Nod soap again. Unfortunately, I still have plenty of the matching aftershave that is also a disaster.

    Ok, enough of my rant.
The shave went well and that's what matters. There wasn't any reportable errors. Did have some alum feedback. Finished with my usual postshave routine. Unfortunately, I was going to video this shave because I promised @brit Gary that I would this month. Everything was set up and I forgot to hit the start button. Lol! I am talking and didn't realize the video wasn't live. Oh well, I will do a video with the Redtip before the end of this month. Have a great afternoon.

  7. Thanks Gary! I am glad that I will be rid of this soap pretty soon. When it happens, than I only will have 11 pucks left, excluding my samples, Tabac shave stick and 3 tubes of cream. The remaining 11 pucks don't have much variety.
I have 3 lavender soaps, 2 Christmas soaps, Cryogen, Arko, Cella, Shannon's The Warrior, Razorock XX and Fine Accoutrements Platinum. It really is not much in the way of diverse scents, but I need to get to under 6 pucks before I order soaps. I know everyone has plenty of soap, but I don't need a whole wall of them. Lol!
  8. very cool.i recently deep 6d a few soaps with lackluster scents and performance.a couple being old razo-rock offerings.their jarred stuff is so much better.won't be chasing vintage soaps either.stirling,a&e,and various british tubbed creams/croaps will be my mainstay in future.;)

  9. Isn't GN rather expensive?

  10. If that isn't a clever name for it, my name ain't Paul. It is, therefore it is.
JACarbone, Trigger and brit like this.
  11. Yes it is Paul. GN costs between 22 to 25 dollars per a 5 oz puck so that is $4.50 to
    $5.00 per oz.
Their Zaharoff Signature Series Collaboration is $29.00 per 4 oz of soap so that is a whopping $7.25 per oz. The Zaharoff splashes are 27 dollars per bottle.

  12. Hey guys! I want to encourage you that it's never to late to get fit. Today, I did my full body workout with weight machines and dumbells. This evening, I came back for a rare light cardio session on the bike. This is me after my bike session. I will be 67 next week so if this non-athlete can do it, then you can too.
