  1. I have quite a few different soaps and have only found one I didn't like. I have probably 20 different soaps.

  2. My number one priority is the scent. If it's mildly scented, or plenty of soap is needed to get a decent lather, then I will not repurchase the soap. If it is over 5 dollars an oz, then I will not buy it unless I can get a sample to determine if it is a unique scent. I would rather purchase cheaper dupes. I will never buy top tier soaps like Martin de Candre or Saponificio Verasino no matter how great their scent or performance. These are my parameters for buying soap. I don't begrudge anyone buying expensive shave soaps. If that's what they want to do, then it's fine with me.
  3. Thank you Joe

  9. will you be replacing the cryogen or just investing in more stirling glacial./add menthol drops etc?

  12. I like Cryogen very much and would purchase it again, but I may support TSD and get the drops and buy a few of the soaps or I may go Stirling Glacial. I don't know. I am really not going to buy anything until I am down to five pucks. By my estimate, it would probably be late 2023. However, I have been known to change my mind. The two artisan brands that I would continue to have in my den are Stirling and Razorock. I like Shannon's, but her husband has frag sensitivities and thus I believe there scents would be on the mild side so that is probably a no go. Caties Bubbles and Murphy and McNeil are a possibility. I want to go to Pasteur's Pharmacy this summer and see what they have. Yes, I know that I am not at the 5 soap mark so I am already hedging on my statement. Lol. The problem is there are too many choices and I don't want to have 20 something soaps in my den again. Lol! However, if I did get near that number, it would mostly be Stirling. On the other hand, I want to try different soaps. As you can see, I am non-committal. Seriously, if I was your age, then I probably have 30 soaps because I would have more potential time to use them up.

  14. I understand. Everyone sees the value of the same items differently. Soap is a perishable and no matter what you buy, it literally is money down the drain. My perspective is why buy an expensive brand of soap when a low budget brand gives me the same results.

  15. i get that.i think the trip to Pasteur's is a fabulous idea.pick what you envision yourself to use in a 5 year window and buy what you really like.we all have a finite time on the globe.spoend your best years enjoying what you like most, money be damned..;):eatdrink047:

  19. True! I am hoping to live to be at least 90, so that only gives me 23 years to use up soap and still shave with my straights.
