i get that.it didn't bother me or anyone else when i was a mechanic,as i was by myself for the most part.one has to be sensitive to client's needs/allergies these days..but i have worked places in the past where everyone came to work slathered in colognes.smelled like a .well you know.house of ill repute..
Actually, it's not if you use lapping films. It took me about 20 min to reharpen my C-Mon. I have reset bevels and it took me 30 min to have a razor shave ready. Lapping films are an idiot proof method to hone razors. However, some straights are expensive. My C-Mon cost me 25 dollars and it was shave ready. It was the best bargain in my journey.
Joe, I gotta limit my choices. I do have a couple real nice straights but, I will hold on doing anything with them for now. I seem to get really nice shaves with several different razors that I have now. So, fo now I will focus on the Hawk and the shavettes. I seem to have all of my other razors dialed in. Even the Slim set on 9 is not problem for me. I must say, I am impressed with the Hawk!
Thank you Gary. Y'know, they shut off the water here this morning-I think I BARELY got my shave in!(I didn't know about the water shut-off...it's back now).
Great combo from the big G man in the sky. I 've used Gillette Series A.S., but wasn't satisfied with the coldness, or lack thereof. Smells nice, though.
recently here as well.mid week cold shower..no notice..seems these building managers forget who pays their way..
a few menthol drops would rectify that...everything here was sold at a drugstore at one time or another..
We have many water shutoffs in this bldg....It appears when they fix one "problem" another occurs soon after.
