  1. What a nice shave on this Father's Day. Lotsa Clubman paraphernalia (preshave and post). The Beard/Bodywash in the shower set things up well. Prior to the shave, I added some Clubman Hair Gel to my hair, but this isn't the "Hair Gel Den"(course there is a thread for us to talk about that). This Clubman Classic Brushless Cream is a work in progress for me, but it's fun to learn. I probably should have scooped out more than I did, and will err on the side of "more cream" next time. All went well, but perhaps I should have done better down at Cactus(neck). No cuts, Knicks, or Red Polka-Dots. One pass. It really is a nice shave product(the cream). I'm sure Pinaud is smiling in his grave. I went the Clubman way today as it is cool for spring. Super Duper Excellent.
  2. :signs001: Joe...Enjoy your day.:happy088:

  4. :signs001: Joe...the Brut finishers were superb.:happy088:
  5. I have the week lined up. The only ones I have not used yet is the Bullet tip Micromatic on the left (closed comb) and the next one to it which is an open comb. The others have given me good shaves except for the Featherweight on the right which did bite me. I will use each one this week. I really like the 1912 Star. That gives a very pleasant shave. And of course, the Hawk v3 with the Standard plate and a Professional blade. I will start from the left and work to the right finishing with the Hawk or maybe even do 2 days with the Featherweight. One blade all week with the vintage SE razors. The same blade. It has 3 shaves on it now. And the MWF all week too.

    Good afternoon

    Head and Face Shave

Assured for Men Razor by Dollar Tree
Assured for Men DE Blade (2 and3)
    Barbury Synthetic Brush
    Razorock XX SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Maggard's Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 49 hrs
    Dome Growth: 3+ days.

The first time I used this razor and blade it gave me a very good shave. I decided to put this bargain basement razor to the test by doing a face and headshave with 2 days growth on my face and at least 3 days growth on the dome.

I did 2 passes (WTG and XTG) on my face. I usually go ATG for my second pass, but this time I went XTG. I did 3 passes on my dome. I had to do some pickups on my dome and face, but I got BBS all the way around without any cuts or irritation. I have to say that I am quite pleased with the shave. However, the blade is not as smooth as a coated one, but that's to be expected. I am counting this shave as two, so the blade has now 3 shaves on it. I am going to stretch this blade for another face shave, bit I feel going beyond #4 shave would be pushing it.

Surprisingly. I didn't get any alum feedback on my dome, but there was some on my neck. Finished this shave with witch hazel and Pinaud-Clubman aftershave.
The cost of the setup is as follows:

    Razor and blades $1.36
    Alum Block $5.00
    Brush. $7.80
    Witch hazel. $8.00
    Razor Rock Soap. $4.50
    Pinaud-C AS. $9.00

    Total. $35.66

Total minus the witch hazel and Alum $22.66

    Have a great day.
  7. Terrific shave Paul.

  10. awesome shave Paul.:):eatdrink047:
  11. awesome shave and pic Joe:cool:
  12. Very nice, Joe! :)
I only shave the top of my head when I see or feel some stubble. Maybe once a week. Not much hair on top and the few I do have turn into ticklers if I let them grow. So far, I seem to be able to go in all directions with my razor and have not cut myself on top yet. Hope I have not just jinxed myself! LOL
  13. I just ran across my latest update on my DNA test my sweetie gave me for a birthday several years ago. Mostly from the British Isles

    I am:
    37% Scotland
    26% Ireland
    Munster, Ireland & East Cork
    25% England
    12% Norway
  14. Great Fathers Day shave Jeff. Enjoy the time with your clan.
  15. Excellent shave Hogie. Glad to see that you are dialing the Hawk, although if it was me I would not give up on the OC plate. I just love the OCs. Then again, I do not have the Hawk. Perhaps some day in the near future.

    Happy Father’s Day.
  16. Thanks Gary!
JACarbone, jgreenepa and brit like this.
  17. I shave my head because I have the horseshoe hairstyle or the Bozo the Clown look. Spending money on a barber to knock down my dome hair is ridiculous for my case.
  18. I could have told you what your ethnicity was by looking at you. Lol!
  19. I always thought I had more irish from my mom's side. Scotland was a surprise!
  20. Oh, I have not given up on the OC plate. The light blade is good for that base plate. I am just done testing it for now. On to more enjoyable shaves. The Micromatics! And the Star.
