GEMonday, July 4th, 2022 Razor : Gem Junior bar- Mfg 1907-11, excellent tame mid range, very nice with a new Gem blade for a close shave, well built to test of time, very enjoyable audio feedback + it's like going back in time a little this morning with this razor. Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable. Soap : Razorock Irish Country side, nice mild scent with excellent lather qualities. Brush : Yaqi Rainbow 26mm brown whiskers, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, great scrubber + excellent painter. Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Proraso green with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Gem Jr bar with a coated Gem blade. Have some great shaves!

I made a decision yesterday that will change my Saturday shaves from here out. Saturday will be Supply SE Saturday. This will give me at least 52 shaves a year with this great SE razor. Supply finally got it right for me with the SE razor. Here is what this Saturday will look like.
ASRazor shave, July 5th 2022 Razor : Ever-ready 1912, made in England later model 1912-Mfg 1936-53, excellent mid range, very gripey handle with the raised corners, Proven razor for over 100 years of use by ordinary folks, state of the art manufacturing for it's time line. Blade : Gem SS PTFE (3) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable. Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood, nice Bayrum scent(some clove) with excellent lather qualities, different lather foam but excellent protection when the blade hits the face IMO. Brush : Yaqi Robin 24mm boar bristle, excellent lather generator, soft spilt end bristle hairs, nice scrubber + great lather painter. Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood(some clove) + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=Excellent shave with my Ever-ready 1912 with a coated Gem blade.(one of those shaves it does not get better!) Have some great shaves!
Tue 5th July The Grosvenor 404 mixed Vitos Super Red Gem Micromatic - Bullet Tip Gem S/S [ 3 ] GB Grey Flannel A/S Lotion I am afraid that this rather minty Micromatic does not work as well for me as earlier versions. In fact today I struggled to get Two days of growth cleared away satisfactorily. I think like ER G-Bar lookalike this is another Razor that will be dropped from my regular rotations.

SE Plissoft noir Williams Mug soap Schick E2- Canada NOS Schick S/S Single- Canada ( 8 ) Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion After a very disappointing Shave yesterday,today was a complete contrast - smooth from the off with a superb finish. I should have learnt by now if a Shave is not going well - perhaps change the Razor.

SE SOTD, Friday, July 8th 2022 Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC 50mm, Mfg 2021, tame mid range, interesting design for clamping, changed to a new chrome head I bought recently(cheap sale) and tolerances are tighter IMO. I usually get great shaves from this razor. Blade : Schick proline 50mm p30- sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity, 6 shaves max for me. Soap : Cyril R Salter Sandalwood cream- nice mid range scent, excellent lather qualities. Brush : Yaqi mysterious space 24mm synthetic, Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area. Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups. Post shave : Witch hazel cleanse + Ogallala Bayrum with Sandalwood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless). Results :CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=Great shave with my Yaqi Excalibur AC with Schick proline P30 blade. Have some great shaves!
Fri 8th July Alpha G4 Syn 26mm Hampshire Wool Fat soap PAL Injectomatic NOS Schick Platinum Single - Holland ( 2 ) Tuff Red A/S Lotion The Injectomatic may feel a bit harsh at times, but when fitted with this NOS Dutch blade it really is a “ Schick buster”. Today the Shave was very smooth and comfortable, and the finish up there with the best.
Sat 9th July Jayaruh Syn No67 Tabac soap Personna Super Stainless Injector NOS Schick Platinum- Holland ( 3 ) Tabac A/S Lotion A very pleasant Shave from such a lightweight Razor. Am quite sure that if I had exerted a bit more pressure I could have got a closer finish. However, I was happy enough with the one attained.
