It was for men at the outset(and who knows, probably still today). Course ladies became part of the action later.
@OP-I like them better than anything else. Sandalwood is a distant second. I’m using Henry Cavindish lavender now and I have B&M lavender on the way.
Unfortunately, Yardley no longer makes shave soap. They do make body bar soaps, that are fantastic. Years ago, I was lucky enough to find some NOS Yardley Lavender Shave Soap. It still smelled of lavender, and is an excellent shave soap.
I’m using the aftershave now. It’s not what I expected ( it’s a little more perfumed than I anticipated) but it is very nice.
I really enjoy lavender soaps. My favorite is my Valobra Lavanda, a limited run soap acquired in 2012 from 1000 & 1 Seife Shop in Germany. Funny thing, I sent them an inquiry asking how much it would cost to ship to me in the US and rather than give me a reply, then sent me the soap, and an invoice.
I've used lavender soap in the past; I don't remember the maker. Love the scent. May have to get some.
Not a soap, but DR Harris Lavender is a killer shaving cream. A lovely but relatively light scent, and gives a top-notch shave.
D.R Harris also makes a great lavender shave soap; it’s also light scented with top notch performance.
Good to know! I've never tried any DR soaps, only their creams, & didn't know they even made a lavender soap. I'll give it a go.
Not a fan of lavender-scented products. Too strong for my nose. I don't mind lavender as a complementary scent in other shave products (e.g., Dr. Jon's Black Label), but by itself it's too strong for my liking.
