Hey! I wear long white socks with my gym shorts. I don't need to be reminded that I am an older gentleman. Lol!
not really a nice shave for Sunday tho....I have slipped in my technique using the DX and it let me know several times! I have much more enjoyable shaves with all my other razors. Now, it's time to burn thru some of them 400+ DE blades I have! I will use the Hawk v3 on weekends now. I am still working on that first puck of MWF. I can see the unscented puck underneath now! I was hoping it would help scent at least part of that unscented puck. I like the challenge now and then but, for now, the shavettes will gather some dust!
This will be an "Open Comb" razor week. Starting with the vintage 1920's Gillette open comb brass razor with a fresh Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade Mitchell's Wool Fat Simpson "Commodore" brush TOBS Herbal Gel pre-shave Thayers & Geo F Trumper for after shave treatment Pinaud Clubman "Vanilla" after shave Bloomed the soap with HOT water while washing my face and doing the HOT washcloth to the face. I want to use up the Herbal Gel. I like it but, it's too expensive for the small amount you get. I had a VERY pleasant 2-pass shave with minor cleanup. I have discovered that my beard grows from left to right all in the same direction and this is why I have to work harder on my right jawline to get it close. I ended with a BBS shave. Super smooth! Alum bar raised zero feedback. It's sure nice having a pleasant shave again! I have so may blades that I have binned the blade and will use a fresh one every morning unless it is one of the super sharp Feathers or Perma sharp. I hope all have just as nice a shave!
Awesome shave Hogie. I have 4 Rockwell blades left from a 100 blade sleeve. It took me almost 4 yrs to get to this point. I usually go 5 shaves before I bin a blade. I could go go for more shaves on those blades, but I decided to limit them to only 5. Have a nice day.
With all of my "Everyday" types of blades I will use once and bin. The premium blades will get more. I can go as long as a week on a single Feather blade. Permasharp prolly 3-4 days. YMMV
SOTD Stirling SS Razor (ST Plate) Voskhod Blade T-400 Brush by Tom Mike’s Natural Soap Floid AS A smooth shave Have fun!
The shipping for my two orders yesterday are kinda high....$7 for each. Ahhhh, it's worth it, I suppose, but still.................:-(. And by the way, the Bill Neumann shipping prOHcess has begun, it's on the way to their local UPS. Bill's team doesn't fool around in getting products out of their facility.
I think I still have that sample in a bowl. I'd better get to work on it(although I did have ONE shave with it).
Fine shave this morning. Goo through Wednesday. The next time I use the Clubman Classic Barber Brushless cream, I'll go in with just my right hand, the same hand I use that receives my outstanding goo. One pass. Good job all over. No Cuts, Knicks, or Polka-Dots. Once again, going softly over the cut from Cactus the other day. No issues. I was clumsy with the Aqua Velva...spilling some onto the sink even from my cupped right hand. What I had remaining in my hand was more than enough for the face AND neck. AV's great, but I may replace it with Gillette Series Cool Wave when it runs out(course I'll have to gamble that the spout doesn't allow for spilling). Pierre Cardin cologne to close the shave. Outta This World Excellent.
Terrific shave Paul. It looks like you are ready to scope out the Aisle 13 ladies. Be careful. They can be quite pushy. Lol!
