  5. Nice lather. I’ve only used the Arko shave sticks for a face lather. It seems to work well in a bowl as well.
  6. Last two shaves.

In rotating through my self lubricating razors we come upon the original.

Picture below is not my razor but one with the original handle which was aluminum.

I picked my razor head up at a fleamall back in February for $5.00....yes I grabbed it up quick. I shaved with once after I got and was not real impressed with the first shave. These last two shaves have been better. It is a very mild razor and the Feather seems to be the trick. You really have to ride the cap on this one and there is no sense of the Feather....it is a smooth operator and definitely holds the lather. Three very nice passes.

I do not have the original handle so I picked up the Razorock thick bar handle to go with it. I think it looks a little like the original.

I hope everyone is doing great. It has been hot in Alabama. The heat index Saturday was 109 degrees. :angry021:

I'll close with an original add for the Grand Shave King.

  7. Thank you. It’s a good soap that always lathers nicely.
  8. Nice shave. Now you make me want to dig up my GSK. I remember liking it.

  13. Thanks Brian. I have mostly been a facelatherer and thus this is the first time I have bowl lathered with Arko. The container is too small because they fill the soap to the brim and that makes it difficult to load the brush. I don't have a problem doing so, but now that I have a viable bowl I will bowl lather it henceforth.

  14. Thanks Danny! I have bowl lathered before, but my metal bowls are smooth and my cheap plastic ones are two wide. I have always been on the lookout for an inexpensive bowl, but all I encounter in the thrift shops, antique stores, etc, have smooth interiors. I found this $2.00 bowl at a nearby thrift shop.. It fits in my hand and does make a great lather because of the bumps inside The only negative with this bowl is that I wish it was little deeper. Otherwise, I can't complain because the bowl performs way above its price point. Take care.
  15. Wonderful shave Danny. I like heat, but I don't feel like being a roasted chicken on a rotisserie. Hope the heat wave breaks soon, in the meantime, try to stay cool.
  16. fine shave and pic Joe.
