  2. Sometimes we have to have a head scratching tyoe of shave. Eventually we start to dial it in and they become less of an issue. You will get there.

  3. My shave this morning was great, but, as a reviewer implied, it's best for winter. Course "it" is the Bill Neumann Heartwood soap&A.S. team. Bill Neumann's shave products are skin-friendly. Best to have that type in the winter so as to moisten the dry skin that comes from the low humidity. 2 passes. No cuts, Knicks, or polka-dots. Again, no cologne needed-as the Bill Neumann scent is good enough-shouldn't be mixed with cologne. Course I don't put cologne and A.S. in the same place, but still a blend might exist. Outta This World Excellent.

It's very rare that I shave with less than 24 hrs growth, but I decided to go for it.
Danny's brush is very soft and really makes great lathers as you can see below:

    20220715_094459.jpg

The VdH Razor is a mild tool, but I have recently gotten great shaves with it. I did a 3 pass shave because I didn't want to buff and I had enough lather for 3 passes. In fact after my shave, I did a 4th pass of lather on my face and neck just to use it up. Lol!
Anyway, I got a fabulous shave without errors. Did get some alum feedback. However, I didn't get any stinging from the Old Spice aftershave. Take care.

  13. Let me take this time to explain to newbies or regulars who get confused by my silliness:

    Bill Neumann-Wm. Neumann&Co.
    Stoylin-Stirling Soaps
Doc Ezlovan-Rod Lovan, the "Stoylin" owner.
  14. thank you Joe,yourself as well.:):eatdrink047:

  15. I received the Mama's Bear soap-Beau Brummel. I'm not sure I'll like it, but I'll try to get used to it. The Tobacco persuasion almost matches that of Stoylin Gentleman and maybe Tabac (I've never tried Tabac). A bit on the strong side. There's also some Black Tea. It's flat, like a pancake...like my Razorock Lime Burst was when I ordered that. For that matter, also like the Bill Neumann soap I received yesterday, but I'll work with the Neumann-it's too good to consider flipping. One thing that attracts me about the Beau Brummel is they say it gives you the feel of an 18th Century gentleman. I like THAT. I'll use my Stoylin Unscented A.S. with it. See how I feel after a few shaves.. But it's a winter=type scent, as are the other two I just ordered.

  16. And now I'd like to correct the last thing I said(hand-soaps). Course the soaps I'll be getting from Doc Ezlovan DO cost money(chuk yuk)..I think $28 or so for a two month period. I'll be getting 6 more at the end of THIS month, and will do a pause for a few months, so I don't end up with a Pasteur's Pharmacy full of Stoylin hand-soaps-lol. It's nice to be able to wash my hands with a Stoylin soap. :).
  17. I didn't know there WAS a Peppermint Leaf, but here it is. Bill Neumann has great customer service. Maybe at some juncture I'll do another $60 order and get free shipping. Oh-oh, I think you were talkinabout the Razorock soap. Sorry. Yes, I like that one, too,. :)

  18. I occasionally use Stirling Sheep bath soap, Paul. Skin friendly, not drying at all, easy to lather.

I also keep a bar of MWF bath soap around for my pre-shave facial wash. Good stuff also and seems to last forever.
