  3. I hadta shave so, I did a quick 3-pass with the GEM Featherweight.

    Razor - GEM Featherweight
Blade - GEM Personna SS (6th use and still sharp!)
    Proraso Menthol
    Simpson T3 Trafalgar
    Geo F Trumper Skinfood

The Featherweight was so nice, I plan on using it again tomorrow. I may redo this whole shave. It was that nice! The shave soap was not as cooling without the Proraso Blue pre-shave cream.

I have mastered this razor! Very pleasant shave. WTG, ATG, XTG. No cuts, nicks, or weepers. Alum bar raised no feedback.

This razor shaves REAL close even after the blade had been used 5 times already!

Back to relaxing on the bed watching TV. Rain off and on here.

I hope all are having a good shave today!

  4. Terrific shave Hogie. I would say that the Proraso Green is in the mild menthol range so it's really not a face freezer.
  5. When coupled with the Proraso Blue, it is very cooling to the face. Without, it is not even all that cool. I may go for a jar of that Chiseled Face stuff! Have you tried combining the soap with the preshave cream? It really is much cooler then. I will use both tomorrow.

This is my most pleasant shave yet with the Featherweight. Zero pressure and yet it shaves SO close.

Back still sore but, I just can't lay around in bed!
  6. So happy to get these today. Scent is Fantastic. I guess we’ll see how the lather goes when the time comes.

  9. I don't use commercial preshaves because I don't deem them necessary for me. I use the bloom water as a preshave and that works well for me. As far a Cryogen, it is not for wusses. Also, I would load that soap dry and then face lather on a wet face. Also, don't go back to the puck with the wet brush because it makes the soap super mushy and you will use the soap up really fast.
  10. Awesome pickup Myles! Are you still stationed at Camp LeJeune?

    DE Shave # 413 -JustOneJulySoap - Weekdays

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Dollar Tree DE
    Blade: Gillette Silver Blue
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
    Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Smokeberry
Aftershave: PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Alum Block

Quick three pass shave with the Dollar Tree razor. The blade began to tug a little therefore it went into the circular file following the shave. The resulting shave was still close with no issues or alum report.

Busy day riding to the Southern Den to receive a delivery of a bbq that was suppose to come last Thursday.

I have returned and now will be heading to the pool to cool off. Have a great day gentlemen.
