Swelling went down by the 24 hour mark. Thankfully! He's doing great. Came out to the living room yesterday evening, and started trying to jump up on the couch. Of course, Mommy was there to handle the situation, but later he showed me he could do it himself. And even get down without busting his head or stitches open. I got to sleep in a bed last night. I'm told the dog tried to save him from the cone of shame while I was out getting dinner. I ordered some doggie pjs to see if they'll work better than the cone at keeping him from licking the incision. Should be here today according to Amazon.
9 months after his amputation and cancer diagnosis, BamBam said his final farewell today. He had been losing weight. Just a bag of bones. I called the vet yesterday and explained. Got an appointment for July 8th, 2 weeks from yesterday. He was just there in February for a check-up. Even did a full senior cat blood panel, which came back fine. When I noticed this afternoon that he couldn't walk, I knew it was time, but no vets were open. Luckily the animal shelter was open for 1 more hour at that point, and they could end his suffering. His liver had a huge tumor they showed me after he was gone, and he was jaundiced.
JoAnna, I'm very sorry for your loss ....... Our cat is 17 years old and still very healthy though acting the older lady she is. We realize and receive our days with her as a gift from God. God bless ...........
So sorry for your loss, JoAnna. I believe all animals go to heaven. Revelation 5:13 is a glimpse into the throne room of heaven and it says every creature on earth (and then some) is there. 13 And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: “Blessing and honor and glory and power Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!” The neat thing is we can hear and understand what they are saying. We'll be able to talk to them!
So sorry to hear of your loss JoAnna. I've been blessed with many wonderful feline companions over the years, but it never gets easier losing them. Wishing you peace in this tough time.
I mowed the grass and aggravated my back that I had hurt. Either that or I had burst a cyst on my kidney! Zero-turn isn't too bad and it's fun to mow the grass. Theodore normally hides under the recliner when he hears the mower (Kubota with Kawasaki motor 54 inch deck) which is a mid-size commercial grade. I came in and he was right beside my chair where I had left him. He needed his face washed so, I cleaned it and now he is hangin' with daddy. They can tell when you don't feel great. Loyal.
This last week, I just passed the 1 year Gotcha for Owen and the 4 year Gotcha for the Chico, the old guy.
It's hard to get a good pic of him when the sun is behind him! Flash fixes all. He knows daddy is still sore so, Theo is hangin' with daddy. BIG eyed fluffy!
