Some of you may remember these from decades ago. I'm waiting on a few more to arrive. This one has new ink, silicone greased innards, and now just needs polished. Yes, I am easily amused. Would like to find a box full of 'em.
  5. I particularly like Skilcraft pens. I usually mange to have a U.S. Government issue one in my toolbag, and working on Navy ships, I manage to pick up one or two off the decks.

Not sure if it's the same type as you have there, but they look similar.

  6. Basically the same as those trusty old Skillcraft clickers, even the smaller size is about the same. The company who made these is Woodlyn, I'd never heard of before getting this one.

I seem to remember (late 1980s) seeing Skillcraft twist action mech pencils similar to the colored Scriptos of the 1960s - 1980s, but no doubt they went to push-click advance long ago.
  7. "Skilcraft is the brand name for quality products manufactured by people who are blind. Government and commercial customers can choose from a wide range of thousands of different products to meet their business needs. Skilcraft products are available to federal government customers through the AbilityOne Program. The Skilcraft brand is owned and licensed by National Industries for the Blind."

I work for their sister company VIA (Visually Impaired Advancement)

Almost forgot about this. I'm not so much waiting for it to arrive, as it's waiting for me to arrive. The seller lives in Portland, so it was delivered the day after I ordered it off eBay. I'll be picking it up this coming up weekend when I head home.

One of the things that attracted me to Doi san in particular was that his knives tend to be a bit chunkier, with a wider distal grind, than other smiths. He is a master of low temperature forging, which keeps the crystal grain size small, which reduces the likelihood of chipping, and he usually tempers his blades at 66 Rockwell, though some go as high as 67-68 hrc.

I was looking for a workhorse, not a laser.

I just hope my wife likes it. If she doesn't, I'll never hear the end of it.
