  1. One day, I will get myself a boar brush. All mine are Badger or synthetic. I must say, I do prefer the synthetics.
  2. I like the big blades with some heft for extra stubble. Three days growth now nice and clean :happy036:

  3. Shave of the Week Starting 5 September 2022

    Henson AL13+++ razor
    Treet 7 Days blade
    PAA Amber Aerolite brush
    Williams SS (vintage)
    Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe
    Assorted A/S

First things first, vintage Williams is, to me, as good a soap as there is out there. Easy to lather and provides great protection/cushion/glide. I could use it every day but, of course, I won't cuz I would run out of it too quickly. At any rate, great shave; smooth/close/comfortable. The Henson/7 Days combo is extemely effective and my face liked it a lot. All is well. Now go enjoy your day folks

  6. MMMonday, September 5th 2022, I had a ASRazor shave today.

Razor : Ever-Ready streamline 2nd Generation - Mfg 1949-53, upper mid range, well built to last generations and needs a light touch to master this interesting razor. I also put a folded spent blade spline shim under the existing shim to mock older blades to smooth it out slightly also but shaves Ok with out one also.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (9)- Very Sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely + predictable.
Soap : Razorock "The Dead Sea" unique scent that is pleasurable + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi Atlantis 24mm synthetic- excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, Great splay scrubber + great lather painter, very close face feel to a 2 band badger IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock The Dead Sea splash with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] Excellent shave with my Everready Streamline 2nd Gen with a Gem coated blade.

  12. Hi Gary. The Cashmere is probably my favorite synthetic knot that I have in my collection and I have over a dozen synthetics. I also have 21 boar brushes and half a dozen boar/badger brushes. I prefer SOC boar but others prefer Omega boar which I do have a couple of those in my den. They do take time to break in but worth the breakin time.

    Tabac Tuesday's Cold Water Shave

    Cold Water Rinse
    Tabac Shaving Soap
    Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger
    Schick M Adjustable
    Supply Black Label Blade

The Tabac Shaving Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick M Adjustable and a Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  18. Tuesday morning:

    L’Oréal Men Expert Facial Wash
    Yaqi 30mm Barber Pole
    Canadian Tech/Wilkinson Sword day 7
    Palmolive Classic SC (Italian version)
    Proraso Blue ASB
    Brut Deodorant Spray
    Brut AS Splash
    Brut EdT

I absolutely love this Palmolive Classic cream from Italy - actually it’s exactly the same as the green tube version which is sold everywhere else in Europe. It has the same clean, soapy, classic scent, the lather whips up so easily - it gets so thick, rich, slick as well as cushiony, and it leaves such a comfortable postshave feeling. The Proraso Blue balm is really moisturizing and soothing, its scent is mild but pleasant, and the Brut’s scent has become a favourite of mine once again much to my wife’s chagrin. (don’t worry I still love you baby!) After three passes I wound up smoother than silk - what a great shave!

  19. It was a very pleasant MMBT shave!

    Razor - Micromatic Bullet Tip
Blade - GEM Personna SS blade 2nd
    Pre-shave - Proraso White
    Soap - The Dead Sea
    Brush - rescued Perfecto badger
Post shave - Thayers Toner "Rose Petals" & Proraso balm
    AS - Proraso

This soap is easy to lather. I built lather in my bowl and then worked the brush on my face to build it even more. VERY nice soap! I do not know how to describe the scent but, I like it! Rainy day again so, I warmed the bowl before working the lather. Very pleasant 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with minor cleanup. Very efficient razor. I also did the dome to knock down head stubble. I got almost no feedback from the alum bar. No cuts, nicks, or errors.
