  4. Thanks Joe. I felt the lilac from the Veg. and the lavender note from the Stirling would be a nice match. The bergamot (citrus) doesn't really impede the combo. I found it to be very nice, but ymmv.

  6. I pull my photos into The Gimp editor on my computer, crop them and scale them to 1200 x (what ever number shows up for the other dimension since the ratio is locked by default). The scaling is what shrinks the image size down in bytes.

  7. The new barber pole handle for the Hawk will be here before dark. I may have to try it out with the new handle tomorrow.
  8. I do the same. I use software called ACDSee.
  9. I think you will like the barber pole with your Hawk.
    I like that combination.

  10. EASY RESIZING.
I use my tablet, and open the image with microsoft paint (it's in every windows version); hit the "resize" button, tell it what % you'd like it reduced, then save it. Now it's *easy* to attach to a forum post! After you've done it a couple of times, it's lightning fast.
    I like easy stuff.

  11. Thursday morning September 8 - Single-edge Supply September
Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black with SE comb plate / Supply Black Label injector blade (21 and done)
    Brush: Simpsons Chubby 2 Synthetic
    Soap: MWF
Post: rinse, alum, Portland General Store black willow bark toner

My last shave was a week ago Tuesday, so nine days ago. The stubble was past scruffy and edging into short beard territory. It took two passes to get rid of it all. I noticed a bit of mild tugging in the process, so I declared the blade "done" and pitched it into the blade bank after the shave. It was still an excellent shave, though, with no complaints from the alum afterwards.

The more I use my Supply 2.0 injector with the new SE open comb plate, the better I like it. I haven't used any of the original three plates since getting it. By now, I think they are permanently retired. I had been considering getting the other new Supply injector -- the dial-adjustable Supply Pro -- because truly adjustable injectors are very rare beasts. But now I don't think there is much point. I like the Supply SE so much as is that I don't see anything to adjust.

If anybody is thinking of getting a modern injector, I highly recommend the Supply SE.

Hope everybody has had a good week so far and has a great weekend.

  12. The new handle for the Hawk v3 came! Up for tomorrow unless I change my mind. LOL
I may change an item or two but, I will use the Hawk. Lavender was so nice today I may use it again tomorrow.

Oh, and the Thayers Lavender is new too!

  13. Nice shave and setup John. The Supply Company's newest razor has the no nick technology and that's supposed to be a very good razor. However, they have that plate that you can fit in your Supply SE without buying the entire razor.

  16. I am not sure what my setup will be tomorrow. I am leaning to a shavette shave with Stirling Triumph shave soap or it may be my Thiers-Issard straight or it could be some other razor. Lol! That's what happens when you have plenty of good choices.
  17. I know this problem well! LOL
I have already changed a couple things. I am trying to go all lavender but, I have no lavender After-shave. So, I have selected the Vanilla Pinaud Clubman.
Everything else has lavender in it except the pre-shave cream so, I will go with the White Proraso.
  18. That's why I look forward to fall&winter shaving-plenty of good choices.
  19. Lavender and vanilla make a good match. Barrister and Mann has Lavanille shave soap and aftershave. I have never tried it, but I am sure it's good.
  20. There are plenty of spring and summer soaps, Paul.
