  3. Theodore went to the vet! Annual checkup was good. First time at this vet and they simply adore Theo. I let him roam the room to help him relax some. He yelled all the way there in the car!

  8. I foster Monarch butterflies every year. More appear every year. Here is one I found on a blade of grass and put it where it was safer. Within the hour, it emerged. It's a female. I have 5 more yet to emerge.

  9. I have a pet rock named Cephus. I found him in the back of my house in the flower bed. I gave him a good bath and made a crate for him.

He also likes it when I take him out of the crate.

  11. By the end of December, Theodore will look like this or even a bit more fluffy. He gets a HUGE coat every winter. I am lucky he loves the comb and tolerates baths well.

  13. When I was still in grade school, my sister and I collected the caterpillars for a school project. We put them in a jar and fed them milkweed leaves until they went into chrysalis. We watched them morph into the butterflies and then we let them free and this always amazed me. One of GOD's wonders. I have read how they need our help so, I planted milkweed around the house and every year now, I get more and more. They say that they return to the same place every year even tho it is not the same generation that left. I think by the time they are here in the NE, it is the 4th generation. They slowly migrate north every year and t takes 4 generations to complete the cycle. The 4th is the longest lived. They fly south and winter in Mexico and in spring start the trip back north. Really fascinating. No other butterfly does this, I think. An amazing wonder of the Lord!
  14. So far, I haven't seen a report on buttterflies on Jeff Corwin's(Defenders of Wildlife)Saturday morning program. Aaaah, he'll come around, I bet.

  19. My BIL's cat did that a lot when he was with me-he loves being outdoors but he had to be inside at all times when with me.
