Very pleased with this morning's shave. With the Mama Bear's Beau Brummel soap I can't follow it up witha scented aftershave(course if I had Beau Brummel A.S. that'd be a horse of a different kettle of fish). Thus it had to be an unscented, and Stoylin is all I have in that persuasion. This soap reminds me a bit of Bill Neumann, in that both are stacked right to the top of their respective jars, thus you don't see much progress made as you scoop them onto the brushes. It'd be a great choice for a Throwback Thursday, as the feeling is supposed to be that of 18th Century gentlemen's clubs. Anyway, nice paint job from the brush. Funny thing about wet shaving...we think we are all set after the first pass, but there remains a lot of soap on the brush, so why waste it. No Cuts, Knicks, Polka-dots. Once again, I left too much astroturf down at Cactus Nation. Beau Brummel's feature scent is cigar leaf(maybe it came from a Tiparillo-reember my reply to a member talkinabout Cigarillo's?). I must do better down at Cactus-this is a late-blooming focurs for OUDtober. Super Duper Excellent.

The Shave Nation razor did the job just fine! MUCH nicer with a good handle too! I could have almost stopped after one pass! Let's call it a 1-pass shave with cleanup.

Razor - Shave Nation SN-250 with Razorock handle
Blade - Rapira fresh blade (last one I have) single use and binned
Soap - Captain's Choice "Land Ho" (very thristy soap!)
    Pre-shave - Proraso Red
    Brush - Simpson "Commodore"
Post-shave - Thayers toner "Rose Petal" & Captain's Choice "Land Ho" balm
    AS - Pinaud "Whiskey Woods"

It was a pleasant 1-pass shave with some cleanup. I showered before bed so, I warmed face with HOT washcloth with I warmed the scupper & brush with HOT water. I had to add water to the soap 3 times! Then it was a bit soupy. Not one of my favorite soaps for whisking but, I do like the scent. I even had left the brush full of water! The scent is one of my stronger soaps and very pleasant. It is a cream so, it surprises me that it needs so much water! I did a single pass WTG and that was good enough to stop right there! I went ahead and did a little cleanup along my jawline and neck. I guess the blade/razor combo was very efficient! Shame that was the last of those blades. Pleasant and close shave. No cuts, nicks, or weepers and alum bar was pretty much silent.

I am polishing my brass choice for tomorrow. Open Comb, of course.

    Growth: 2 day beard.

    Prep: Shower

Pre: Washed face with Stirling Glacial unscented pre-shave soap then reapplied before lathering.

    Brush: RV 25 mm STF

Lather : Noble Otter - Bare.
Bowl lathered with Dirty Bird Pottery shave bowl.

Blade: Schick Pro Line P-30 (D2)
    Razor: Razorock Hawk V3
    Base Plate: OC
    Handle: Razorock UFO

Post: unscented Stirling witch hazel and PAA Mysterium Serum

I did two passes with no touch ups (since no touch ups are needed). The Noble Otter lather was very slick and this blade/plate combinations glided effortlessly across my face. I would have said this was the perfect pairing for this plate but unfortunately, I had two weepers under my nose and several nicks on the right side of my face. I am sure that this could be corrected with technique, but I am moving on.

I will look towards the Yates hybrid plate next if it comes soon. Otherwise, I think The R41 will be up next.

Wonderful shave and setup Hogie! I have used Rapira blades and found them sharp, but comfortable to use. Enjoy your day.
