  2. Thanks gentlemen. It's great to hear from you all. :)
  3. Congrats Joe! I hope it provides good, reliable service for you.

My college car was a 1970 Buick LeSabre two-door. My Bride's uncle had a mid-80s Grand Marquis. Felt like I was riding on a cloud in those cars. They were fun to drive.

  4. Thanks Charlie. I prayed to the Lord for guidance. Fortunately, I was a car salesman and I knew that the car was priced correctly. It is in excellent shape and to get a used car under 100K for that price and condition was a needle in a haystack here on LI. I went to other dealers and they said that it was hard to find a car that fit my budget and in fine condition. The car has minor scratches, but that is wear and tear. Anyway, God answered my prayer. Now, I will have a reliable car to make a trip to N. Carolina to see my nephew and friends. Thanks again.

  5. I had to go back and look up your particular model. It's a nice-looking car, Joe.

This was the spittin' image of my college cruise mobile down to the color and vinyl top. Only difference is that mine had the stock GM wheel covers - I wasn't as flashy in my younger days. :D

My Dad and I split the the $750 purchase price in 1981. It showed 65K on the odometer when we got it. I suppose it could have had 165K, but I suspect it was only 65K. It lasted me all through college, and we drove it another 100,000 miles before we sent it on. A pretty good deal in my book and not a bad looking ride for a hillbilly college kid. :)

  6. I am familiar with the Grand Marquis because I drove them when I worked for a taxi company. My former company bought these cars at auction. The NY police used these cars until they got newer cars. I believe they are driving Ford Taurus', but I am not sure.

  10. Front 9 of my shave this morning had some problems, but not a BAD shave. Bay Rum(soap from Jeeves amd A.S. from Stephan). 2 cuts developed DURING the shave, but were wel "dealt with" by the cold-water rinse and A.S. AFTER. . Meanwhile, once again I left some astroturf along the right side between the ear and jawline. I don't want to make a habit of that. No Knicks, no red polkadots. 2 passes. Ahhh, it was all right. Back 9 tomorrow. Pretty Excellent.
  11. Thanks Joe. You will see it at the TSD LI Chapter meeting next week.

    Straight Shave #401
    5/8 Dovo Best Quality
    Stirling Boar Brush

    Stirling Alum Block
    Dickinson's Witch Hazel
    Beard Growth: 39 hrs

I decided to take out one of my Dovo straights and the Best Quality got the call. It's been awhile since I used this razor so it needed to be used. Arko's performance was great as usual. This soap is super slick.
Did 2 passes without incidents for a nice, smooth, comfortable shave. There wasn't any feedback from the alum. Finished with the witch hazel and the Proraso aftershave. I'm off to the DMV to register my new wheels. Take care.
  18. That's a key rule-No boot resolin' during the race.
  19. Well, right...I suppose mine did hit the "awesome" categoryyyyyy(haaaa)long lung breath.
