It takes a few lathering's to dial in the soap but the soap works and smells good with good protection. I only have 2 of the Ogallala soaps (Bayrum Sage & Cedarwood + Bayrum & sandalwood) and the Bayrum Sandalwood is my favorite because the Sandalwood just makes it so much nicer IMO. The Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood aftershave is just what I enjoy the most and it last for hrs but it is not a loud or projecting scent that would offend folks in a room. Great juice IMO.

The Palmolive Shave Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #277 Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the TAR by Tom and the Astra SP Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Sensitive 5 in 1 AS Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This Barnängens Parba stick is a real antique - it’s over a hundred years old. It’s from Sweden and it was discontinued quite a while ago, unfortunately. It has such a nice old school scent, the lather is terrific - thick, rich, SLICK, and protective, and it leaves a very comfortable postshave feeling. The CutiBase moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the P&G version of Old Spice is a disappointment in my opinion - it really doesn’t smell as nice as the original Shulton version - it’s ok I guess, but I can take it or leave it and I would just as soon leave it. Two passes gave me a great BBS shave!

Gary, what does that "H.I.M." mean just above "Reserve". Is there a "H.E.R." also?

 

That's how I feel about my "New Spice"....even though it says "Classique" and lists the year Old Spice began(1938).....not the same scent.

I find the New Deluxe a touch less smooth than some of its Gillette contemporaries from the same time period. Nice and efficient, though. The Art Deco styling is a fave as well.
A double dose of Shulton OS today, which is a very good thing in my book.

H.I.M., which is short for ‘His Imperial Majesty’, is a subtle nod to King George VI who was one of only a few British Royals to hold that title and who’s military background led him to work tirelessly to strengthen the image and resolve of England after World War II.

 

Is that particular stick over a hundred years old, Jeff? or the brand? That is amazing if that stick is.

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur 50mm with a Yaqi polished handle - MFG 2021> excellent tame mid range, interesting clamping design, small razor head parts, affordable. I seem to really enjoy this razor a lot with 95%> close comfortable shaves. Daily driver potential for a lot of folks IMO.
Blade : Schick P30 50mm - Sharp & smooth + reasonable longevity for a AC blade.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood, nice Bayrum scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Black marbel" 24mm tuxedo knot, 1st Yaqi brush that got me interested in this line of great brushes years ago, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse + Ogallala Bayrum & sandalwood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing. lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick Pro 30 blade.
