Hotel shaves for a few days. Didn’t check a bag, so out came the Cart shave. Took me a bit to find the angle- hadn’t needed to use it for a few years.
The Palmolive really is a great product and I like the little travel brush I put together.

Seeing your Valobra post has me reminiscing that I made a mistake of getting rid of my tub of their Fougere, Joseph…didn’t love the scent, but there really aren’t that many quality pucks of 3x milled tallow pucks left and that was a great lather.

Pears Original Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Yaqi 24mm Naples Tuxedo Synthetic.
Face Lather.
Lather: Erasmic Shaving Soap Bowl.
Blade: Bolzano Superinox Inossidable. (D3)
Razor: Parker 24C.

Everything in my shave set up this morning worked together superbly.

An enjoyable 2 pass + pick-ups close comfortable shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of L'0REAL Barber Club Reinforcing ASB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

The Tabac Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #432 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette New Improved and the Astra SP Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Another FRIGIDLY cold setup - the Citrus Melody soap and aftershave are easily a match for any Glacial soap and aftershave in terms of menthol power. This soap is a classic example of Fernando’s great talent - it’s tallow based so the lather is magnificent, there’s lots of slickness, the scent is gorgeous - it’s more lemony than anything else but I also pick up a little lime, grapefruit, and even a hint of tangerine, the menthol sensation is so intense, and the skincare is terrific. The Prep is as always so moisturizing, cooling, and soothing, while the Citrus Melody aftershave has the same lovely scent as the soap, it’s witch hazel based so there’s no burning or stinging from it, and the menthol sensation…………look out!!!!! Three passes gave me a superb BBS shave but this Wilkinson Sword blade is now kaput!

Of course it's Tabac Tuesday. Tabac Soap, Tabac A/S, Tabac Balsam, Tabac Cologne, even Tabac Shower Gel! Brush was my new Simpsons Manchurian in Copper Ice, Razor was a British HD Rocket loaded up with a Gillette Vintage Spoiler. The shave was sublime!

 

Trick or Treet week, Tuesday, OCtober 25th 2022

Razor : Yaqi Slant- Mfg 2019> aggressive range, excellent design for result driven folks like myself, I use a steep approach angle(riding the bar) with a short handle with a light touch will give stellar shaves with good mature technique + no plucking of razor at start of a stroke. Lots of blade feel for folks who enjoy that, by riding the bar gives the person a adjustable razor on the fly with you adjusting as you shave by blade feel or known beard areas of concern when to back off of the blade exposure feel IMO. A very enjoyable shave this morning.
Blade : Treet Carbon, Sharp and smooth, 2nd shave so longevity unknown. The blade shaves different than my Stainless steel blades for sure. My stubble is dry and tougher with onslaught of winter I have noticed. First snow in Northern Alberta Canada -3C.
Soap : Speick stick, nice mild spicy scent with some of the best qualities lathers I have used. Triple milled, I take my pocket knife and slice some slivers off and press into bowl the way I prefer to use it this way. Excellent soap IMO.
Brush : Yaqi "rainbow" 26mm brown whiskers synthetic, Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Fine Fresh Vetiver with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi Slant with a Treet carbon blade (different experience). Carbon steel blades is all the old timers used for decades.

The Hawk mowed down the multi-day's growth with ease. I prepped face by washing with Ivory bar soap and HOT washcloth. I need to address a problem with my shower mixer valve before I can shower! Why does crap always happen when we are under the weather???? I could not get any cold water to flow due to knob being stripped.....it's 23 years old and due for a replacement! One extremely hot moment in that shower!

I did a 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with no cleanup. I binned the blade after thus shave. The Proraso is always very easy to lather. I, of course, pre-heated the bowl and brush with hot water. No cuts, nickes, or weepers. Alum bar was silent. Overall and pleasant shave.
