Two passes and touch ups with the 3D Schick Type OC Razor and the Schick Plus Platinum Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This Vintage Spice soap and aftershave have become absolutely top favourites of mine and for a very good reason - they’re both a perfect clone of the Shulton Old Spice scent which I love so much. I had so much fun working up my lather - thirty seconds of loading with my wonderful Yaqi Barber Pole gave me so much thick, rich, creamy, SUPER SLICK lather that also delivered great cushion, protection, and such a soothing, comfortable postshave feeling. The Aveeno moisturizer works so well as a balm, and the Vintage Spice aftershave smells as gorgeous as the soap and because it’s witch hazel based there’s never any burning or stinging - not only that, the scent lasts almost all day. Another brilliant three pass BBS shave from my Goodfella/Astra Green combo!

Here my yesterday´s shave (28.11.2022)

The last shave for me this year…where has this year gone?! It went so incredibly fast…


Razor: RazoRock Lupo SS .95 + Maggard MR3 Handle // Blade: Gillette Platinum // Soap: SV Felce Aromatica //Brush: Shavemac 173 Synthetic // Aftershave: Ebenholz ASB

What a difference a handle makes…maaan…i though that the Bulldog handle was spot on, but man have i been wrong. With the MR3 handle the razor is perfectly balanced. Right in the middle of the handle is the sweet spot. Not Head or Handle heave. Just perfect.

So the shave went well. Extremely smooth and gentle. Blade and Razor are a very nice pairing. The handle increased the comfort during the shave due to it´s „stubby“ felling. This will be the handle to go with for this head. I need to buy another one for my Lupe .95 OC.

3 passes later i was completely BBS. The Aftershave Balm was a highly recommendation from a German Group member. He was right. Fabulous Balm. Smells lightly fruity, does not stay very long but the skin care is fantastic. Goes on very nice (very little goes a looooong way).

This was a shave to end up the „Shaving Year 2022“ joyfully. Let´s see what 2023 will bring…

Razor : Yaqi "The Final cut" adjustable- Mfg 2021>, full range, designed after the 1930's Gibbs adjustable but takes regular Gillette standard blades, well built for the price range(affordable IMO). I get some excellent shaves with this razor and had a enjoyable shave this morning. My favorite adjustable lately!
Blade : Gillette silver blue (3) sharp & smoooth with resonable longevity. My favorite DE blade.
Soap : Tabac, flowery clean scent with excellent lather qualities. Triple milled and it lasts a long time. Really good post shave feel.
Brush : Yaqi "Deep Stones" 24mm boss synthetic, great lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG(3.5) + ATG(3.5) + pickups (4.5 settings).
Post shave : Pinaud Clubman with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=excellent shave with my Yaqi TFC adjustable with GSB.

As I said before, this Goodfella is a very mild razor but it performs so well against my tough beard stubble. The Williams Menthol cream is a delight - the scent is so beautiful, it lathers like there’s no tomorrow, the menthol sensation is at a good middle of the road level, and it gives very soothing skincare. I’m not sure if it’s made in France, the Netherlands, or Belgium but it’s very popular in those three countries. The Nip Man balm is from the UK and it has a nice minty scent as well as a good cooling effect as well as excellent moisturizing and lots of protection against irritation or razor burn. The Alt Innsbruck aftershave went on icy cold along with its classy old school European scent which moves out of the way when I applied the Aramis eau de toilette which is another top favourite fragrance of mine. Three passes really cleaned me up superbly - another tip top BBS shave!

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE AC 50mm- Mfg 2021> tame mid range, simple clamping system, small head parts. It works well for myself about 95%+ of the time shaving. Results are great and very enjoyable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline p30(1) sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity for a 50mm blade.
Soap : Tabac, flowery fresh scent + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka Express" 24mm Mew knot synthetic, Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock American barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Yaqi SE Excalibur with a Proline p30 blade.
