The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with the SlimGem Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Techmatic and the Techmatic Band Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

It’s been a long time since I last used the Frosty Bay Rum soap so I decided to pull it out this morning and I’m happy that I did. Truthfully, it’s a great soap - it’s vegan based, it has a beautiful bay rum scent, it gives lots of thick, rich, slick lather, it has a nice menthol sensation, and it’s very skin friendly. The Prep and the Floid Vigoroso aftershave were a perfect finishing combo. Many thanks to my dear friend Mohamed Peer in Durban, South Africa for introducing me to his wonderful soaps. Three passes gave me a dynamite BBS shave!

SE SOTD, Friday, January 27th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC 50mm Yaqi Milano handle- Mfg 2021>, tame mid range, simple clamping design, small head parts, I like to use this razor because it gives great shaves consistently + pairs great with the Schick proline p30 blades.
Blade : Schick proline p30- sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity for a AC blade.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer rapier, nice scented soap(Aramis?) with excellent lather qualities. One of my favorite soaps, Yaqi commissioned Master soap creations of S.A to bring on their line of soaps & fragrances.
Brush : Yaqi "Bali" 24mm silvertip badger, excellent lather generator, heavenly pillow like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Nice bloom to this silvertip with a shorter handle that is great to hold and look at.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : witch hazel soap cleanse on beard area + Yaqi Musketeer rapier + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results :CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers=Excellent shave with my SE Yaqi Excalibur 50 mm with a Schick proline blade.

Prep: Warm shower:/ Asda Tingly Mint & Tea Tree Shower Gel.

Pre:
Cold wet flannel to my face & head.
Pears Original Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Anbbas 24mm Synthetic.
Bowl Lather.
Bowl : Home Bargains Stainless Steel Side Bowl.
Lather: HWF Lanolin Shaving Soap (No.2) with Tea Tree & Lavender essential oils.
Razor: Merkur 39c Slant. (Face) - RK Stainless. (D1)
Razor: Supply V2. (Head/Dome)- Personna Injector PTFE. (D2.)


Post:
Cold water face & head wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face & Head Rinse./Alum Rub. / Cold Water Face & Head Rinse. Homemade (~Autumn/Winter mix~) peppermint lavender, eucalyptus, + Tea Tree essential Oils Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel. / Brut ASL + Splash-On Lotion/ Nivea Men Replenishing PSB./Milton Lloyd America Night EdT.

A new shave set up to start the Weekend. The last 2 month or so i have been revisiting various sub-continent DE blade.. Throughout the blade focus I have had some different results from them but never bad ones, all have been totally acceptable.

The Merkur 39c slant is such a solidly built smooth non-aggressive, yet efficient razor with a hefty weight and more aggressive than it's smaller handled sibling the 37c. Both razor when ever I've added them in my razor rotation the shaving results have consistently good. Today was no exception.

If I had to choose which i prefer out of the 37c & 39c, then the 37c would be my choice, purely because i prefer the smaller handle on the 37c has grip which gives me better precision and control when shaving.
Both razors I consider non-aggressive feeling razors, yet very efficient at the same time. The scallops on the top cap make the razor feel extremely smooth which is great for my sensitive & problem areas.
As always, the dependable Supply V2 provided me with a effortlessly smooth head shave. SE razors are such smooth efficient shavers.

A close comfortable face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small squirts of Milton Lloyd America Night EdT to the chest & pulse points.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

This Blend 47 soap from Captain Nemo in Kolkata, India is really good - although it’s not tallow based it still gives very rich, slick lather with a nice eucalyptus scent as well as a pretty strong menthol sensation, and excellent skincare. The Prep and the Skin Bracer aftershave completed the job so well. Another three pass BBS work of art - what a dynamite shave this was!
