Friday, February 4 Day Four T+S Kyoto~~CH2~~Feather DX~~Arabian Oud Kashmir Continuing my 3017 of* the Kyoto. Still lathers very well and did a great job protecting my face from thew Feather DX Stank is a seldom used, albeit much-loved by me product. *Misspelling corrected.
Day 3 I’m way, way behind at work after missing a few days. The shave was a great start to the day, though.
Can’t tell if you are serious or not, Paul. In case you are actually wondering why Clubman was mentioned, I will refresh: 1. It stinks 2. It can make people sick 3. It cleans drains…
My goodness @clint64 , I was just in the prOHcess of writing up a contract for you to do Clubman ads on TV. There goes THAT baby out the winda.
I was going to add that to my post to be sure, but you jumped in first. To paraphrase whatshisname who does Fine ads....."Clubman....get it."
That's like the kid doing the video of Williams soap-"I really don't like this soap". Classic, I'll say that right now...(oh, I just DID say it).
Sunday, February 5 Day Five T+S Kyoto~~Simpson CH2 Synthetic~~Cobra Classic/Feather Professional~~West Indies Bay Rum No denying, this lather is luscious... Some real improvements vis-à-vis my Cobra Classic technique. Eschewed the Alum and simply dried off the razor after each pass. Neck work without weepers, albeit less than BBS smooth... Finished with the West Indies Bay Rum. Honestly, it's just as satisfying as Dominica.
Day 4 Using the Supply the other day made me realize that I’ve neglected all my non-injector SEs. A byproduct of a DE blade focus as well. Will focus on SEs while I’m whittling the soap down.
Yes, a 3017...again, that is what this thread is about. On the 'Day 1' post I talked about 3017ing this soap.
Monday, February 6 Day Six T+S Kyoto~~Simpson CH2~~Cobra Classic/Schick Proline P-30~~St. Johns Cutlass Special "Shout-Out" to our good friend, @clint64 He so generously sent me these Schick Proline blades. First time with the Schick and color me impressed. Got a MUCH closer neck-shave than I do with the same razor and Feather blades. Nice. The St. Johns Cutlass is a smoother and much more tolerable version of Clubman.
Day 5 I’ve come to a realization about my oft-neglected RR Hawk. It is a rough shaver for me. It feels like it is going to bite, but never does, even with a sharp Feather Pro. Never any weepers…just a feeling that one is imminent. That’s what I now call it…Rough. Not Aggressive per se, but rough.
