    SRS # 833 - 3017 Project - Weekdays - Prarie Song

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Puma 65
    Brush: RazoRock Plissoft Monster 26mm
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song Balm

Fabulous shave this morning. I decided to give one of my new brushes a spin prior to sending it down to reside in the Southern Den. The RazoRock Monster is just that. The actual know is similar in feel to the PAA Atomic Rocket brush that I have. It whipped up a nice thick and luxurious lather sufficient enough 3 passes and my usual post shave application.

The blade decided to bite me on my right cheek. The blade got momentarily stuck then powered through a small raise in the skin. Could have been a developing pimple or something like that. I must be trying to turn back the clock. :happy102: The result was one of Paul’s, @Paul Turner, frequently mentioned Knicks. :sport001:

Nonetheless, it was a great shave. Hope you all have a fine day.

Today is my 99th consecutive shave. Tomorrow will be 100 and that will end my focus. I will share my thoughts about this focus tomorrow.

I picked out my C-Mon Brush that is tied with my JR #386 as my best and favorite brush.
I made a nice lather with this brush just by wet loading the brush, painting it on my face and then lightly scrub the face in a circular motion. When I first used this brush, I just scrubbed my face and the lather would go deeper into the knot making it difficult to get a decent lather. I was a slow learner, but eventually I figured out how to properly use badger brushes.
Did a 2 pass shave that gave me a bloodless BBS shave without any touchups required.
The alum was silent and so was the matching aftershave. It looks like I will finally finish this soap tomorrow. How fitting for my 100th consecutive shave. Take care.

  14. Thanks Joe. If a tiebreaker is needed, then the one who draws first blood loses. Of course, it's on an honor system.

    Timeless Razor ALSB45 aluminum razor.
    Feather blade (2).
    Delrin synthetic brush.
Lakewood Soap Company Smokeberry shave soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.

Awesome three passer this morning. The alum was warm in one spot. I'm really enjoying this aluminum wonder.....mild but efficient.

I forgot the cologne this morning...at least I smell clean. :D

    Take care everyone!
  19. Thank you, Joe. The 39c is another wonderful choice.:happy088:

  20. Very fine shave ths morning with my Slant

Parker Semi-Slant bar with one of my Razorock handles (Bulldog?)
    Fresh Parker Stainless blade
TOBS "Mr Taylor's Shaving Cream" (spoon to measure)
    Proraso Red "Sandalwood" Pre-shave cream
    Simpson #46 brush
    Thayers toner "Lavender"
    Edwin Jaggar after-shave balm "Sandalwood"
    Proraso after shave lotion

Pre-heated the bowl with HOT water along with the brush. That custom bowl really makes good lather. 2-pass shave WTG & ATG with minor cleanup across the grain. This shorter handle on my slant worked very well. The Parker came with a long handle. I like the shorter handle better. Heavier too. Mr Taylor has some really nice shave cream! After the alum bar rub (zero feedback) I took the last of the shave cream from the bowl & brush and applied it all over my face. I think this helps my skin. Rinsed off and applied the toner, balm, and after-shave.

So nice, I plan on a repeat tomorrow using all the same items. It had been a while since I used one of my slants.
