A friend of mine is headed to Poland for Christmas. He has graciously offered to pick up some shaving supplies for me while he's there. My question is, what should I ask him to get? I really don't know what products are available there. Any suggestions? I'm always looking for new soaps and creams, really anything shaving related. Thanks in advance. Larry
You could have him pick up some Polsilver blades. You can't get them in the states any more and I don't even know if they are still making them. Lots of people looking for those if you can get your hands on them.
Good idea, one of my favorite blades, but I already have 120 Polsilvers. I might have him look for some anyway, I can always trade them for something else. Larry
WARS and Lider. And Zbrowka vodka. Seriously. Mix it with apple juice. Tastes like an apple pie, destroys your mind.
Wars cream is the only thing I know about Polands shave supplies. Folks rave about it, and it's apparently really cheap. I'd have him pick you up a couple tubes. If you don't like it, I'm sure you could do a deal on bst. Enjoy the trip.
Thanks for the tips....I have a friend at work who is a Polish immigrant. He often makes trips to Poland, and also has his people send him things. I've often thought about asking the same question posted here in the OP. Now I don't have to, and have quite a nice "shopping list" to boot. :thanks
If you know how to hone straights, get an entire CASE of Wapienicas. I think you can get them pretty cheap over there. Then sell 'em on eBay for a tidy profit.
Poland I think I'll ask him to bring some of the WARS and Lider creams, Polsilvers, and Iridiums. I rarely drink alcohol, so I think I'll pass on the vodka. I'll also ask him to use his judgement, if he sees something interesting, pick it up, I'll pay him for it. Thanks for the input, I really appreciate it. I'll let you know what I get. Larry
There aren't Wapi's for sale anymore, they've ran out. Apparently, there's a new version of the razor, the Wapi II. Either way, if you can buy a Wapi I or II, you won't regret it.
Wars is really a good cream and extremely cheap. The smell isnt the greatest but still nice and old school.
What about Russia? Anything worth having shipped from there? I've got another friend who might be able to procure Russian items for me.... Larry T, I hope you don't mind my jumping on your thread...
No problem, I'm curious too. I have been very happy with Russian made blades, it would be interesting to see what other products they offer the shaving community. Larry
