Super shave Joe. However, you have a large selection of soaps so your sadness is temporary. That's a good thing.
Thanks John for your affirmation. I appreciate it. Favorites February is a great choice because you know that you will have pleasant shaves.
Friday February 10 - Favourites February Razor: Supply 2.0 matte black injector with SE open comb plate/ Supply Black Label (8) Brush: Semogue Owners Club cherrywood handle fitted with APShaveCo tuxedo knot Soap: TOBS Lavender shave cream (croap) Post: Alum, Thayers Alcohol-free Unscented Witch Hazel spritz, TSD Lavender Aftershave Milk My last shave was January 30, so for my first shave in February, I had an 11-day beard growth to mow down. The Supply injector was up to the task. I took the time to wash my face with hot water first and then to soak my beard for a minute or so with a hot wet washcloth. I think it made a difference as the stubble was not at all stiff or wiry to shave. Two passes were sufficient to bring me back to DFS. Alum was quiet. The TSD Lavender aftershave milk smells pleasant but not overpowering and is soothing and moisturizing without being greasy. A good start to this month's shaves. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
Awesome shave and setup John. I had my setup for this afternoon's shave, but I decided to go with one of my lavender soaps instead.
Hi everyone. I wasn't going to purchase anything this year that would be significant, but we all know how that goes. I mentioned earlier that Stirling made a drop a few days ago and one of the soaps that I was interested in was the Stirling Spice. It is a dupe of Old Spice. It is back by popular demand, but Rod states that he didn't make a large batch because some of the essential oils were getting expensive. It's still the same formula, but once it goes, then that's it. He won't make anymore until he can get similar oils for less money. That's why I caved because I like the Stirlimg Spice soon to be gone for good. Therefore, I bought the shave soap, aftershave, and the EdT. I also bought 3 large alum blocks to get free shipping. I should get them next week. Who ever said that you would be saving money by wetshaving got it all wrong. Lol!
It's not bad with the ProGuard blades. Even tho it is a tamed blade. it still shaves close. You do still have to be careful with them too.
Thanks Gary. My Stirling alum in travel size is 45 g and I bought it 5 months ago. It has broken into 2 pieces, but I probably have a month left on them. The large size is 125 grams so it's almost 3x as large so I figure that I would use 1 large block at 15 months which is the same rate as my smaller block. Therefore, the 3 large blocks should last me just shy of 4 years.
Feb 10 SOTA Good afternoon. Schick E3 Injector Razor Pella Blades (?) MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender SS and AS Stirling Alum Block Beard Growth: 23.5 hrs I haven't used my Schick E3 for quite some time so I decided to use it today. I got my best shave using the Pella Blade so I am quite pleased. Angora Soaps Midnight Lavender is just awesome in scent and performance. I am glad that I purchased another bundle because it is unobtainable. Did a 2.5 pass shave for a BBS result. On my first pass, a chin weeper appeared, but it disappeared with the alum treatment. The alum and the aftershave was silent so I was surprised because these blades have been rough on me. Take care.
Thanks Gary. I will have to use either Max or Artie for tomorrow's shave because starting Sunday is when I shave with my Fatboy all week as I promised in my first post of the month.
I went upstairs to decide what razor/soap to use for my next shave. Theo jumped up into his favorite spot on my towels. I will for sure have his fluff on my face when I use one of those towels after my shower! He was frisky too!
