    SRS # 836 - 3017 Project - Weekdays - Prarie Song

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: Frederick Reynolds 5/8”
    Brush: Ever Ready 200T
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song
    Aftershave: Pinuad Citrus Musk
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song Balm

Very nice Valentine’s Day shave this morning. I had a productive day between the early morning X3Bar workout, chores around the house and taking my mother shopping and to lunch.

The Frederick Reynolds straight delivered a close and comfortable shave. Three passes to shave Nirvana. The Pinaud Citrus Musk pairs very nicely with the Prairie Song soap. Smelling good!

Hope you all have had a great day.

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (setting 8)
    Gillette Winner DE Blade
    Semogue OC Super Badger Brush
    Razorock XX SS
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 24 hrs
    Dome Growth: 3 days

Since I will be using my Fatboy all week, it makes sense to use the same lineup for a headshave. I upped the setting to 8 because of the heavy Dome Growth. Also, I am just using the Razorock XX SS all week to push it to extinction. I have a ways to go. Lol!
Anyway, both head and face shaves went off without a hitch. Alum was mostly silent and the Aqua Velva Ice Blue aftershave felt really nice. I decided to bin the Winner blade so I can start with a fresh blade tomorrow. Take care.

Another winner of a shave this morning. I can't say this enough, but the "4 Men" Bodywashes(Dial, Nivea, and Gillette)really do great at setting up my face and neck to be shaved. Doc Ezlovan makes a strong argument for his(Stoylin) own brand, and he's probably right, but if you don't have a Stoylin. go get these. Nice, clean, fresh shave all around. Goose eggs for the Cuts, Knicks, and Polka-Dots. No further damage at S. Porcupine(chin) than what happened the other day. Nice work applying the Puros A.S. Never any Niagra Falls concerns. As Outstanding As It Gets for the second day in a row. Now, time for some Sophisticated Goo shaves.

    SRS # 837 - 3017 Weekdays - Prairie Song

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: C V Heljestrand 14. 7/8” Camel Bone Scales
Brush: Leo Frilot ECWS 2018 Ghost Trails
Lather: Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Lakewood Soap Company Prairie Song

The penultimate shave with the Prairie song soap. Tomorrow will be the final shave with the soap for the foreseeable future as it appears to be no longer in production by Lakewood Soap Company. As I have come to expect with all of the Lakewood Soaps I have in my den, which number 5, not including the test samples, the lather was top notch in all departments.
The CV H blade delivered a smooth and comfortable three pass shave. The soap pairs well with the AV Musk aftershave.

Hope you all have a great day.

    Good afternoon.

    1959 Gillette Fatboy (setting 6)
Gillette Wilkinson Sword DE Blade (fresh)
    Rockwell Synthetic Brush
    Razorock XX SS
    Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS
    Stirling Alum Block
    Beard Growth: 23.5 hrs.

    20230215_163232.jpg

The only thing different from yesterday's lineup is the Rockwell Brush and the Gillette Wilkinson Sword blade. I bloomed the soap and did the froth method to prep my face. The froth method is when you shake the bloom water with the jar closed and use the water as a preshave. It lives up the scent for me. I made enough lather for at least 4 passes. The soap is really easy to lather and it offers nice residual slickness. I had Santa Claus beards for each pass.
This was my first time that I have used a Wilkerson Sword blade in my wet shaving journey. I may have used them when I was younger, but I am not sure. I have to say that the maiden start with this blade was very good. I found the blade smooth and sharp, however, I will see how long this blade will keep with subsequent shaves. I will not give a final assessment until I need to bin this blade.
Although it was not necessary, I did a 3 pass shave because I didn't want to waste the lather. Did get two microweeps on my upper lip during my second pass. This shave ended with a BBS result. The alum was mostly silent. Splashed on the old reliable Pinaud-Clubman Classic AS to end this fine shave. Take care.

I coulda shaved today but, I have put it off until tomorrow. Here is the setup.

Parker 87R with a fresh Feather blade.
Heat wave here so, I will use the Proraso Green menthol Pre-shave cream.
Venture is a nice soap & balm. I still have to decide which after-shave to use (SO many selctions!)
Photo turned out so nice that I hadta use it! I will hafta re-take photo tomorrow.

if my driveway wasn't so muddy, I would have taken the bike out today! Maybe tomorrow....we shall see...

That Parker reminds me of a Gillette bulldog. Is it normally a mild razor? Does that Feather match up well then? Very nice.

The Parker 87R reminds me of a Gillette. I think it is the "Aristocrat"" Gary can correct me if I am wrong. From the 40's?
