    Used with wet/dry sandpaper or steel backing and SiC powder to re-shape straight razor hones based off old German razor honing principles, some people think edges honed on those kind of rocks shave better. I'm doing it for research.

    Some would probably use the word "mutilate" rather than "re-shape."

    Edit: and the phrase "Bumpy Rock Makers™" is a joke, not to be taken literally. The name I mean, not the plates.

    I ordered a sampler pack of Lord made blades off the big river.
    I have used 3 Lord blades IIRC -Big Ben,Asco and Racer. Racer was the worst of the lot. ASCO was really good and Big Ben was good also.
    The sampler pack has 9 Lord production blades, so I'll have 6 new brands to try out!

    I like ASCOs as well and have found Lords very nice. I like both so much I bought a hundred pack of each.

    now the set will be authentic, minus the case that is. I still have to re-work that khaki hard case for the fat handle WW 2 Canadian tech

    My Lord sampler pack arrived on time and I'm not happy. 3 of the brands are boxless ,loose in the plastic bag. I can live with that it's just annoying.It is supposed to have a pack of Shark Stainless and a pack of Shark Chrome. I got 2 packs of Shark Stainless instead. That's an issue. I don't really give a ratz azz about Shark Stainless, I've used them and was not impressed. I was wanting to try the chromium. Might not order anything else from that outfit.
