My first official 3017 candidate could be the aftershave I'm now grandfathering-Weekend Rodeo from now defunct Central Texas Soaps.
February 19, 2023 Charcoal Good Everyday Razor Gillette 7 O'clock Yellow Paladin Mitchell’s Wool Fat Proraso Sandalwood AS I am on a roll with back to back shaves. I decided to pull out the CG Everyday razor and give it a go. To me it feels very similar to the Feather AS-D2. A fantastic shave to start the day. I am off to visit my mom and take her to lunch. Have a nice day everyone.
The story on this survey isn't that For The Challenge leads...............it is that the other 4 are tied for second. Something has to break sometime(HAAAAH, long lung hreath).
Keeping the 3017 focus going. I don’t have MWF, but in support of @clint64 and @Primotenore 3017ing theirs, I will Titanic the nearest thing I have - a 3x puck of Haslinger Schafmilch.
Sunday, February 19 Day One MWF~~Vie-Long Beehive~~Feather AS-D2/Polsilver SI~~Vintage Aqua Velva And, we're off! This is not my first rodeo 3017'ing a puck of MWF, but it'll take some serious dedication. Primo's up for the challenge. BTW, check out my just-acquired Vie-Long. Sweeeeeet. BBS in three.
February 20, 2023 Charcoal Good Everyday Razor Gillette 7 O’clock Yellow Paladin Mitchell’s Wool Fat Barberry Coast Havana Aftershave Wow! Three shaves in a row. I don't think I did that for most all of 2022. The MWF really works much better for me when I use it daily. Overall another excellent shave. Off to fight the commute to work. Have a great day everyone.
Monday, February 20 Day Two MWF~~Vie-Long~~1941 Gillette Ranger Tech/Polsilver SI~~Tom Ford Tuscan Leather Vie-Long's Silvertip Badger has very fine hair, making for a super-soft face-feel. At the expense of some backbone. So, if you want a brush that really "digs" into the soap, this isn't it. Still, got plenty of product in the knot and created a really great, and typical, MWF lather. The Ranger Tech has a small gap and only a modicum of blade-feel, but in the right hands, will shave any stubble. Finished with a stupendous stank.
Well, as predicted in the Shave Desription thread, I made my first Titanic move just now-chucked the Central Texas Soaps* Week-end Rodeo, as I felt it came on too strong for the skin-food strength of Hub City Soaps,. That closes the books for me on Central Texas Soaps-it was a nice ride with those fellas. *-now defunct. The A.S. was pretty low anyway.
So...you threw away your Central Texas Soap? Can't quite call that a 3017. 3017 means using the same product EVERY shave, until it's gone.
