  1. Thanks Herm. Yes, it is a very mild razor, but it gets the job done. I admit, that I have to do a lot more buffing to get a good shave. By the way, I hate to correct the date on my post. It was Feb 26th, not the 27th. Lol!

SE Shave # 314 - MICROMATIC DARKFALL MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
    Blade: GEM Stainless (9)
Brush: Brent Jacobson Tamarind and Ebony w/ Paragon 24mm boar
    Lather: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Aftershave: Declaration Grooming Darkfall
    Additional Care:
Declaration Grooming Aftershave Liniment - Darkfall
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Omega Alum

Fabulous first shave back in the Northern Den. An easy three pass shave following a warm shower. Chilled lather courtesy of the Dirty Bird brush scuttle.
The resulting shave easily fell into the category of Smooth as a dolphin’s backside”. I will be alternating my soaps between Darkfall and the other DG/CL soaps I have each Monday for the foreseeable future. Just need to give some of my other DG/CL soaps some love.

Hope you all have had an enjoyable day. Joe, @Trigger, is your shovel ready?
  5. Thanks for the wonderful words Joe.
  6. Excellent pic, lineup and shave Joe. I don't shovel. Lol!

    Greetings,

    Early morning Shave,

The all Indian made razor & blade duo yet again performed wonderfully together resulting in another pleasurable 2 pass + pick ups shave with no errors to report.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Aloe Vera Gel.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine. ;)

Keep safe, and enjoy your day ladies & gentlemen.

  8. Nice shave Barry. So far, the Indian blades that I have used were very good. Have a great afternoon.

  9. Now that I appear to have Ingrown Hairs on my CHEEKS(of all places), all my shaves from here on out will focus on those areas-try to cut down on the hairs, if I can. But of course a shave involves the ENTIRE face and neck, so I'll just go on with all that as well. Fine shave all around. 2 passes. Zero cuts, Knicks, and polka-dots. The Stoylin Unscented A.S. was a good addition. No scent, but it is a Stoylin product. These hairs frustrate me, but they don't prevent me from shaving where I csn, with strong results., Super Duper Outstanding.
  10. It fits perfectly into the mug I have.

  11. Fine shave this morning after I plowed the nasty white stuff!
4th shave with the Professional blade. The Hawk tames the blades a bit. Error free shave!
I also shave the dome this morning.
MR Taylor's Cream makes for LOTS of lather with very little. Effortlessly.

    Awesome shave this morning gentlemen.

I got a 5 pack of the Bolzano blades a while back and decided to spend some time with them. They are extremely sharp and smooth and seem to last a little longer than the Feathers. I also like to fact of no glue dots. :)

I've been busy but I'm still hanging in there.

I hope everyone is doing well.

    Take care!
  13. Ahh, very good then.

  14. Cart razors and disposables are known to cause ingrown hairs. Too much pressing is required to achieve a smooth shave. I know you have attempted a DE in the past, but it would still be a logical solution to your issue.
  15. You're probably right, Joseph. The issue for me has always been two things(well, ISSUES)...1)-settling the blade into the razor with comfort, and 2)-angling the razor the right way.

  16. Thank you,Joe..I haven't had any problems with my Indian blade focus either, all have given me close comfortable shaves.
I intend to start a new blade focus at the weekend revisiting my Egyptian & Turkish blades for the next month or long .
