Two passes and touch ups with the Wade & Butcher 5/8 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and Pinaud Classic Vanilla AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Finally got a workable edge after getting rid of of the weird geometry and extra metal. I'm going to stick to this one for a while and see how it holds up.
Kikuboshi 45, cream was T&H Ultimate Comfort lathered with a Zenith boar, and D.R. Harris Arlington AS finished up a nice spring shave.
TI Dominator, cream was SMN lathered with a Zenith Pro knot in an oscar11 handle, and Myrsol Agua Balsamica was the AS. A touch of Floris Palm Springs for Spencer Hart added a little extra fragrance for the long run.
Very good question. It is vintage. I was only able to fine a few other pictures of similar razors. They were worn and in rough shape. The coffin this one came in is old. I had to restore it a little. It also had some very very old tape on it, which I carefully removed, and touched up the paint that came off with some of the tape. The grind on it is very thin, like a Filarmonica thin. The Coffin the razor came in says It was made in Solingen Germany. But, "Mon Mondesir" is French for "My Desire". You would think that would indicate a German made razor, for the French market. But wait, there is more, on the coffin. On the coffin it says, under the name " The Warrantied Trade Mark", in English. So, my conclusion is that it is a fancy American Company that briefly had razors made for them in Solingen. Or not.
I don't think the English writing is important. A substantial number of Ern trademarks, such as Crown And Sword, are in English.

ERN manufactured many of its blades for others, and many other markets, not just Germany. To get back on the subject, for the life of me, I cannot find out where the company of "L Sommer & Co." Was located. My Google Fu is not up what it should be.
I have a Rondinella and had done some research a few years back… Mondesir and Rondinella were both registered to L. Sommer and then W. Koniger. I think the marks transferred in the late 30’s. Both based out of Solingen.
