Vintage April + DE SOTD, Saturday, April 15th 2023

Razor : Gillette Rocket Super Speed, British variant- Mfg 1950's, mild range, this razor is built to last and gives a nice close shave with Standard Gillette blades I have found. Mostly carefree shaving with no issues. I like this using this razor once in a while and I was happy to find it 5 years ago at a antique store in Central Alberta Canada.
Blade : Gillette Sputnik Teflon coated or PTFE (2) sharp & smooth longevity?. Bought these thinking they where a wider blade but they are not when compared other Gillette standard blades. The Sputnik blade performs well like so many other Gillette blades I have used over the years.(Still testing Longevity.)
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum & Sandalwood- very nice scent of Bayrum with some sandal wood + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi" Lucky dice" 26mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Nice brush handle for folks with large hands IMO + great Tuxedo knot.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Witch hazel beard cleanse + Ogallala Bayrum & sandal wood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BbS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my Gillette Rocket SS with a Gillette Sputnik blade.

Razor: Weishi 2.0 Adjustable. (Settings) wtg/xtg 5, atg + pick-ups 6.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse/Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./ Dana English Leather ASL. / Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

A relaxing Sunday morning shave.

It's been a while since i last used the Weishi 2.0 Adjustable...I find the higher setting are more suited to my skin type. I have an array of in-expensive Chinese clone razors which all provide me with socially acceptable shaves.

The Weishi 2.0 Adjustable/ Silver Star was another smooth efficient combo...The Weishi Adjustable performance on the higher settings gives a superb efficient comfortable shave.

Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face is feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

Here my Sunday Shave (16.04.2023)


Pre: PAA Cube // Razor: Mühle R41 // Blade: Gillette green // Soap: Klar Klassik // Brush: Shavemac Synthetic // Aftershave: Hattric

Great great shave. Smooth and EXTREMELY thoroughly. The soap has this luxurious, warm and „sporty“ scent which makes messily everytime. It was no problem lathering it to the desired consistency.

After two passes i was completely BBS. Even touch-ups were not needed. The R41 is a thoroughly beast. The Aftershave matched well with the scent of the soap, fresh and „sporty“. Almost no stinging or burning after applying. Lovely.

Some years ago I received this La Toja stick as a gift and because of me having so much damned stuff I just let it sit there but this morning I decided to pull it out and I’m so happy I did. It smells so nice, although it’s not tallow based it still lathers like a champ, and it gives soothing, gentle skincare. The Aveeno moisturizer is unscented so it doesn’t interfere with any fragrance you want to use, and the English Leather aftershave’s beautiful old school scent seems to pair very well with the La Toja soap. The Rapira blade reached the end of the road but it gave me one last hoorah with a terrific three pass BBS shave - did I ever enjoy it!

The Van Der Hagen Luxury Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #41 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Dickinson's Witch Hazel and Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
