SE Shave # 326 - MICROMATIC DECLARATION GROOMING MONDAY

    Rating: 5 / 5

    Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip
    Blade: GEM Stainless (6)
    Brush: Classic Shaving Silver Blue
    Lather: Declaration Grooming Trismegistus
    Aftershave: Stirling Arkadia
    Additional Care:
    Omega Alum
    Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel
    Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm

Always a great shave with the Trismegistus soap. The MMBT easily took care of this morning’s growth, like I had any doubt. :shaver
The badger brush whipped up a very nice lather without hogging the lather as some badgers are known to do.

I love the peppery scent of both the DG soap and the Stirling splash. I continue to get whiffs of the scent throughout the day. Several months ago I purchased the splash from Stirling as the matching splash to the soap was unavailable at the time. Currently, both the soap and splash are available on the DG website. I mifght have to pick up a spare towards the end of the years if it is available. This soap will always have a place in either of my dens.

Growth: 36 hours lazy Tue morning shave
    Brush: Puro Tasso Boar
    Razor 1 = Hydro-magic with Personna PTFE blade (2)
Razor 2 = Muhle R89 with Gillette Silver Blue (1)
Usual Face Prep then Pre shave: Proraso Green, nice and zingy.
Cream/Soap: TOBS Aloe Vera. Upside down lathering from the tub with not-too-dry brush. Adding water into the bowl as we go. Adding water prior to each pass to get this slicker, this makes for better buffing.
Post Shave: HWR, CWR, Alum was silent. Thayers.
Aftershave: Handful of Brut after shave

    Passes:
1st pass: SE nicely removed most of the stubble
2nd pass: SE nice, now XTG.
3rd pass/Touch ups: I defaulted to my trusty R89. I can get more pressure with this and get closer.
Learning to go ATG from corner of mouth to the upper lip, but only half way to the nose.

    Results:
Nicks zero. Red spots zero. Alum burn zero. Near BBS in 90% of face. Using these 2 razors works a treat.
Right lower neck getting better. Not quite J-hooking but scooping both ways into the AA area seems to be the way to go!
Buffing at this stage is safer with the R89.

Success: Super-duper wonderful smooth start to the day. (I do better with a pre-coffee shave)

Wonderful early morning Autumn walk with my wife. Superb start to the day!

Tatara Masamune with open comb plate.
    Astra SP blade (2).
    Tatara/Semogue boar shave brush.
Fine Accoutrements L'Orange Noir shave soap.
    Timeless Razor shave bowl.
Irish Chestnut by Andy Hilfiger cologne.

Excellent and enjoyable shave this morning with just a hint of alum. The boar brush did an excellent job handling the soap. Three very nice passes.

    Happy Tuesday everyone!
