I don’t usually shave on Fridays but I had to go into the office today so I wanted to clean up a bit.

Today’s shave was with Proraso green in the cream. Usually this is one that people start their wet shave journey with. That wasn’t me. I started with Proraso red soap. Back when I first started I didn’t want to get something mentholated or that smelled like a Halls cough drop. Eventually I did get the green soap and while the menthol was mild and the scent was not the strong“Halls Mentholyptus” scent that I expected, the soap dried my face out so bad that I PIFd it after one use. I wanted to see if the cream was better in terms of post shave feel. It is.

Razor was the Yaqi Mellon SLOC on a generic handle I bought on AliExpress. Blade was a Derby Extra, first use.

Brush was Omega 10098 boar

Postshave was PAA alum block followed up with Skin Bracer, and later on I used Afta post shave balm when I experienced some irritation. That made it worse, so I used Nivea Soothing balm. The neck is just a real trouble spot for me right now.

Lather: Proraso Eucalyptus & Menthol Shaving Soap.
Razor: Merkur 39C. (Face) - Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless. (D1)

A new shave set up to start the weekend...

The design of the Supply V2 injector razor is wonderful and like the vintage Schick injectors is solidly built to hold the blade firm & rigid in the razor head with no movement making the shaving experience feel safe comfortable, and smooth with no blade chatter they are very easy to adjust to finding the right shaving angle....As i have mentioned before they are such comfortable smooth efficient shavers too especially for head shaving.

Carrying on with my revisiting DE blade focus with the Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless which I haven't used for a while.

I had all intention of using my Merkur 37C for my face shave but changed my mind at the last minute and used the 39C instead....I still prefer using the 37C over the 39C, as I like the smaller handle. Both razors however are smooth shavers.
The Vidyuts/Super-Max SS for me have a good balanced of smoothness and sharpness they ain't the sharpest of blades i use but like all the other Subcontinent DE blades I have tried they have performed well with each razor i have paired them together with acceptable shaving results.

I will continue using the Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless, Dorco Prime Platinum & the Gillette Wilkinson sword (Saloon Pack) for a good while as I have such a large amount of these blades to contend with and infrequently haven't gave them much use so I'll be using each blade for two shaves max then it gets binned regardless if I can get more shaves from them. A luxury i can afford to waste.

Another enjoyable close comfortable 2 pass + pick ups face and head shave with no errors to report. Finishing the shave off with a few small dollops of Nivea Men Replenishing PSB.

My face & precious swede are feeling super smooth & smelling divine.

The Morning TOST Shave Soap lathered well with the Tom's B400 Two-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Wilbert "Acme" Straight gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

This Vitos Vegetale is very nice - in some ways it’s like Cella in terms of the scent because it’s a lovely cherry almond type although the Cella’s scent is more of a raw almond. This soap provides awesome lather that’s so thick, rich, slick as well as protective, and it gives excellent skincare. The Aveeno moisturizer is so soothing, and the English Leather aftershave stings a bit but then it feels great and the old school scent is beautiful. No complaints at all - three passes cleaned me up great - what a terrific shave this was!

Yes I agree with you. Proraso Green is a lot better now both in the cream and soap versions.

this soap isn't as thirsty as some of my other soaps, and I made the mistake of slightly over saturating it, but it still produced a very satisfying shave, just could've been a bit better..
