DE SOTD, Saturday, April 22 2023, Last day of testing the old extra wide Sputnik.

Razor : Razorock 2nd Generation Lupo.72- Mfg Jan 2021, mid range, excellent machining and finish QC, easy to work under the nose with low profile and corners rounded inwards, excellent clamping of blade. Made from 316L SS and a joy to use. Had a great shave this morning.
Blade : Old type extra wide Sputnik(4) sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. This is not sharpest blade of the 2 different Sputnik blades(Old & New), the new has a slightly sharper edge has been my findings and not as wide but has the Gillette standard dimensions & qualities from the Saint Petersburg plant.
Soap : Yaqi Musketeer rapier, nice unique scent(Aramis?) with excellent lather qualities. Created by Master soap creations for Yaqi.
Brush : Yaqi "Ferrari" bleached boar bristle brush, soft split end bristle hair tips, excellent lather generator, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave :Witch hazel beard soap residual cleanse + Yaqi Musketeer rapier + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless)
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Excellent shave with my RR Lupo.72 with a Old extra wide Sputnik Teflon coated blade.

Pears Original Transparent Bar Soap.
Brush: Omega 11137.
Face Lather.
Lather: Palmolive Classic Shave sticks (Grated)
Blade: Vidyut/Supermax Super Stainless. (D2)
Razor: Merkur 34C.

Post:
Cold water face wash with brush squeezing's, Cold Water Face Rinse./Alum Rub./Cold Water Rinse/Homemade (~Spring/Summer mix~) Lemon, Eucalyptus, Tea Tree, Essential Oils.3 Menthol Crystals Mixed Together With 200ml of Care+Witch Hazel./ Brut Original ASL. /Nivea Men Fresh Gel.

Oh man…what a great shave. The best with this razor so far. Never thought that i could have a great shave like THAT, because i like my SS .95 Lupo much better. But man, this shave was outstanding. I think it was the combination with the blade, which paired really wonderful with the razor. Extremely smooth, gentle and thoroughly. The Soap? Words needed? I don ´t think so, as well as the Aftershave.

Wonderful 2 passes plus touch-ups. Relaxing, calming and very joyful

The Morning TOST Shave Soap lathered well with the Tom's B400 Two-band Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Superior Lather Catcher and a Personna Gem PTFE SE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

To be perfectly honest this Sottozero soap doesn’t impress me - first of all it’s illogically named because in Italian sottozero means below zero but although there’s menthol it’s very mild. The scent and lather are good but it seems to lack in the skincare department but the Prep was a big help. The Bergamot Vetiver aftershave from Henri et Victoria smells great, it stings like hell at first but then it feels icy cold and comfortable. Three passes did me proud - another super duper BBS shave!
