Though one of the early AC/SE Razors, the SE1 still is capable of delivering a top quality Shave. Am not at all surprised that those who sold theirs often regret it., I often regret selling my Mongoose.

 

Another incredible shave with the Bunny V2.2 and a Personna 74 blade.

The Vintage Life Licorice Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #437 Silvertip Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the C.V. Heljestrand Lather Catcher and a C.V. Heljestrand Wedge Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva 5 in 1 After Shave Balm. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Sunday SE shave, May 7th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur AC, 50mm with Yaqi Milano SS handle , Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range, simple blade clamping system, very small head parts, very enjoyable razor head with the Milano handle. Very comfortable close shave this morning.
I think this could be a great daily driver IMO.
Blade : Schick proline p30 50mm (3)- sharp & smooth with reasonable longevity. Great blade with the Yaqi Excalibur razor.
Soap : Gillette Pure Cream, nice sweet clean scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "black marble" 24mm tuxedo knot, excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Nivea freshness splash + a dollop of Nivea Sensitive balm.
Results : or CS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm with a coated Schick proline 50mm p30 blade.

Today decided on an early change of blade, and with a rich creamy lather this early Hawk delivered an extremely smooth and close finish. I am beginning to think that perhaps I should change blades a bit sooner, especially as I have a good stock of most types.

Razor : Gem Micromatic OC-Mfg 1930-41, mid range to upper mid range, well designed and built to last many generations with some care, had a excellent shave this morning with no drama.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(9) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Tabac, nice flowery scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Ferrari" 24mm boar bristle, soft split end boar bristle tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock blue barber AS with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= excellent shave with my Gem MMOC with a coated Gem blade.

The Bunny V2.2 and a Personna 74 is an incredible combo. I'm looking forward to seeing if the 74s reputation is deserved in the long term.
