New sharp and or pointy toys. Condor "Blue Havoc" 5.5" 1095 steel blue/black layered Micarta handle. And for jobs too big for that:
Wednesday’s late night mail call is from Pasteur Pharmacy. I got Panta Rei Marrakech shave soap and aftershave.
Finally! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it, especially since you also have the pre-shave oil.
Gives off a strong odor of Birch Tar. I'm guessing they also made a 'regular' strop dressing without the Birch tar. This would have been specifically formulated for reconditioning Russian Leather strops, though it would work on any strop. Text on the back reads "Rub a small quantity thoroughly into the pores of the leather. Remove any of the surplus. Two applications, 24 hours apart, are usually sufficient." "Contains no grit or harmful ingredients. Will keep your strop in perfect condition." PEARLDUCK, Inc. Jamaica 35, N.Y. Edit: there's enough left in this tub to probably do 100 or more strops.
Thanks to an acquaintance of the Wetshavers_India group on Reddit, I had these products: Hajamat Moisturizing Shaving Soap Intense Oud Refill https://hajamat.in/products/moisturizing-shaving-soap-with-shea-butter Shavologist Jaipur Oud https://www.shavologist.com/shaving-soaps Vidyut Metallics Pvt Ltd Super-Max Diamond Edge Wilkinson Sword by Gillette India Vidyut Metallics Pvt Ltd Super-Max Stainless Vidyut Metallics Pvt Ltd Zorrik Super Platinum I’ve never tried three, the two soaps and the Diamond Edge. I read it quite well. I’m glad. And Jaipur Oud is great. Just opening the jar. A wonderful fragrance.
Pretty happy with this one as received. 5/8" Torrey, plastic faux tortoiseshell scales. Pictures don't really do it justice. Patent on the case is for a combination strop and razor coffin. Filed in 1882, expired in 1899. https://patents.google.com/patent/US258959A/en Best guess is that the razor and case is probably from somewhere between 1900-1910, possibly later.
When I saw this group, it was full of brushes I wouldn't give a second look. Till I saw the butterscotch ........ I though it was a Simpson Case #1 ( I don't have one so I put in a low offer ..... it was accepted. When I received it I realized it was a Hoffritz Wee Scot Always wanted one.
Yesterday’s delivery is from Pasteur Pharmacy. I got Extro Cosmesi’s Roma shave soap as well as Roma, Vetiver and Lavanda Muschio aftershaves. I bought these items as a Father’s Day gift for myself; so I’ll put them aside until then.
Cased Gem Damaskeen, little used, with a full pack of original blades that look great (oh yes, you know I will), and a sealed pack of Enders blades to go with the one in the travel box (yep, gonna use them too). $20 for the lot. Also gave $2 for this... One loose/used, 2-3 in the dispenser. I understand these may or may not be P-74s but are at least similar, as tungsten is listed on the back as a component.
