I can only speak in regard to the tub in my den, but this is by far the strongest/coldest in my den. New tub and though the soap itself has menthol in it, the top of the soap was completely covered in menthol slivers I could barely see the soap below. I actually scrapped off some of the menthol as I knew it would be too strong for my liking as popping the top had my eyes watering.

I didn't think about it until now, but I should have taken a picture showing all the menthol layered on top.

That'd be interesting to see, and perhaps explains why it is SO cold. Thanks.

MMMonday, June 5th 2023, MicroMatic Monday use any ASR razor that uses a Gem blade any day of the week.

Razor :Gem Junior 1912 Parade variant with plastic baton tapered handle- Mfg 1943 variant, tame mid range, well made to last generations. I find the 1912 ASR razors variants great to use and give a excellent shaves with usually no issues.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(4) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Yaqi Green, nice fragrance soap(Lacoste green cologne ) with excellent lather qualities. Yaqi commissioned MSC S.A to bring in their line of soaps and Aftershave splashes.
Brush : Yaqi "Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf synthetic knot, excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Yaqi green(Lacoste green cologne scent) with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : 1-10 dial - Copy (2)3 template 9.5.jpg or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers=[IMG] excellent shave with my Gem Jr 1912 Parade with baton handle + a Gem PTFE blade. Very nice shaving with this handle and head combination.

Back 7 yrs ago, I purchased a baggie of Menthol Crystals, off of eBay. I added it to some Fines Snake Bite Aftershave. I also added a little Glycerol for moisture. I also used the Yeti Snot Soap. That was one face freeze of a shave. In the heat of the summer, it is nice to do, every once and a while.

Today's shave was way too cold. First time using PAA Ice Cube 2 and that was equal to S. Glacial. Then the soap was super cold but the killer was finishing with Cryogen AS. That was like having a brain freeze on my face and lasted for 20 minutes or so.

I use a couple of drops of Koolada 10% strength to ice up shaves now and then as I am not a fan of the menthol aroma.
