SRS # 905 - Gemini Shave - Ern 1820 - Shore Shave Player 26 mm Boar - Stirling Shao Dressed Man Rating: 5 / 5 Razor: ERN 1820 5/8” Brush: Shore Shave Player 26 mm Lather: Stirling Sharped Dressed Man Aftershave: Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Additional Care: Omega Alum Dickenson’s Original Witch Hazel Stirling Unscented Glacial Balm A missus approved shave right off the bat. She even liked the scent with the slight touch of menthol. I decided to go with another Stirling product, SDM, following my stellar results of my last two shaves with the Stirling Agar. Once again I was rewarded with a slick and thick lather. Since the soap is in a mug I used a different method of loading the soap onto the brush. Instead of an almond sized scoop of soap pressed into the bowl a dampened brush brush was swirled around the bowl for about 25-30 seconds. The lather was finished off in the bowl with periodic additional of a few drops of water. I did my usual three pass shave with great results. I hope you are all enjoying you day.
Fantastic shave Danny. I almost reached for the Cool Water Mint brush as well. It will come out to play on Wednesday.
Excellent shave and setup Joe. I usually lather right in the mug without transferring it to a bowl to finish the process. I feel it is an unnecessary step. Also, the old-fashioned barber's would have just used the mug so I feel it's a more "traditional" method. As an aside, there are many ways to make a lather. You say to-may-to and I say to-ma-to.
I forgot Menthol Monday today! Oh well, there's always next week... Great photo, btw. Question though: which brand is m&m?
It's Murphy and McNeil. It's a brand that I haven't used, but I have heard good reviews about it. Their labels usually have Gaelic slogans or designs so that you would automatically know it's from them.
June 19 SOTA Good afternoon. GEM Micromatic Open Comb Razor DayLogic SE Blade (final use) MrEE LE #10 Cashmere Brush Chiseled Face Cryogen SS and AS Stirling Alum Block Beard Growth: 24 hrs I decided to go Micromatic Menthol Monday theme. This razor is definitely efficient so a light touch is necessary. I brought out my only menthol soap and that's CF Cryogen. It really gives that freeze your face off sensation. I am still feeling the results 20 minutes after this session. It makes a nice,, creamy and slick lather. It loves water, but you have to work it to get a nice lather. Here's the lather: I did a three pass shave because I just love that ūber cool sensation from the Menthol. I got a BBS shave without any incidents. The alum was mostly silent so with an almost spent blade with an aggressive razor that was quite surprising to say the least. Splashed on the matching aftershave for another hit of that menthol experience. I am still feeling it as I am ending this post. Lol! Take care.
